Well made and well worth the price
“Great product. Well made, sturdy, comes with instruments and a bag. Instruction manual is very minimal but it’s easy to figure it out. I also got SBH-250 for it and the combination works well. You can get some amazing angles with it and get down all the way to the ground.” – By Kartvel

Awesome Flexibility
“This tripod is used for all around projects. I occasionally mount my older 300 f/2.8 to it with no problems (although I’m not extended on the center column). My favorite feature is the flexibility of the legs and center column – great for getting close to my subjects without “shadowing” them. The little center hanging “hammock” is also a neat addition for holding lens caps, snacks, and rocks for stability. It’s also great for macro shots of just about anything you could think of (the reversible center column is great for getting down really low). It’s less than half the weight of my last tripod, just as stable, and so much more flexible operationally.” – By FlightNW

STEP ASIDE “GITZO”
“At [$], the alta Pro 284 is BETTER (note i didn’t say comparable) than all the manfrottos, goittos and gitzo tripods in it’s class, and it’s considarably cheaper. It has all the features, and more, than all the other guys. it’s also lighter than the others in its class. It’s also the only tripod that didn’t get returned to B+H. So if you’re one of those guys looking at those thousand dollar Gitzos, save your money, get the Pro 284 from Vanguard. It’ll change your life!!” – By STROBAHOLIC
