“At 16mm, sharpness is already excellent in the centre of the frame at maximum aperture. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the clarity delivered towards the edges of the frame at maximum aperture for this focal length, which can only be considered fairly good. Stopping down the aperture improves sharpness across the frame, with peak clarity being achieved between f/5.6 and f/8, where sharpness in the centre remains excellent, and good to very good towards the edges of the frame.”

Sony SELP1650 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS has measure only 1-3/16″ (30.2mm) when fully retracted that makes it will fit on your pocket and easy to carry on your travelling day. With a focal length range of 24-75mm in the 35mm format equivalency, it has a surprisingly large zoom range and access to its dual-function control ring for manual focus and zooming. While the Power Zoom capability in AF mode and Internal Stepping Motor give fast, smooth and quiet autofocus that useful when you are recording video with this lens.
Not only does it, the lens also compatible with the NEX cameras and the NEX Handycam Camcorders. Featuring an Optical SteadyShot image stabilization system, the lens is able to reduce the effect of camera shake that very helpful when tracking moving subjects in video or shooting photos in low-light. In addition, the OSS delivers approximately 4-stops of shutter speed correction to help create blur-free images in whatever your shooting situations.
Additionally, the lens is equipped with one ED and four Aspherical elements which correct for curved perspective at wide-angle lengths and chromatic aberration at telephoto lengths to provide sharp, high contrast imaging across the entire pictures.
