Sony NEX-C3 Reviews

Photographyblog reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“Image quality is very good, beating most of its compact system rivals at the higher ISO speeds where those models with smaller sensors naturally struggle.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Engadget reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“Even in low light, the majority of our shots came out sharp and bright, even when captured at ISO 3200. Despite the zoom lens’s maximum aperture limitation, which doesn’t allow it to capture as much light as high-end DSLR optics, we never needed to use the flash.”
rating: N/A

Cameralabs reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“The NEX-C3’s best quality video mode is 720p at 30fps, so if you want full HD resolutions and AVCHD encoding you’l need to look at the new NEX-5N or 7, or possibly the older NEX-5. Aside from the smaller, lighter body, other new features include new results-based Photo Creativity modes, Picture Effects and an improved custom menu for quick access to frequently used controls in PASM modes.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Imaging-resource reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“The Sony NEX-C3 showed full-autofocus shutter lag (with the subject at a fixed distance) that ranged from 0.430 second at wide angle to 0.424 second at full telephoto when using the 18-55mm kit lens in Single-area AF mode. That’s a little faster than the average CSC. Switching to Multi-area mode increased lag slightly to 0.456 second at wide angle.”
rating: N/A

CNET reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“Its performance is pretty good as well–almost identical to the NEX-5–but it’s still not quite as fast as the GF3. It powers on, focuses, and shoots in slightly less than 0.7 second. It can focus and shoot in 0.4 second under good light, which increases to a modest 0.8 second in low-contrast light.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Trustedreviews reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“Overall image quality is very good. While the NEX-C3 offers compact camera proportions, the benefits of the larger APS-C sensor are clear to see. Using the ‘Standard’ colour profile setting JPEG images are natural and lifelike straight from the camera.”

Techradar reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“The performance at high ISO sensitivities is excellent. Autofocus is lightning quick in good lighting conditions.
Rating: ★★★☆☆

PCMAG reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“Video quality is quite good, and the MP4 format makes it easy to play on many devices. When coupled with a wider aperture setting, you’ll be able to play a bit with depth of field, allowing you to add a cinematic look to your videos.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Macworld reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“Sharpness was also rated as Very Good and, although at wide angle, the 18-55mm lens shows some distortion, the kit lens generally delivered crisply focused and well-detailed images.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Expertreviews reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“the C3 shot into the lead as we raised the ISO speed. Photos stood up to close scrutiny at ISO 1600, and even the top ISO 12,800 setting was good enough for posting on the web at small sizes.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Pocket-lint reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“As we expect from Sony, on default settings JPEG images are richly coloured and indeed richly detailed straight out of the camera. The same is true for video footage too, focus adjusting almost without you noticing if you change framing or positioning, which is how it should be.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Ephotozine reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“The buttons on the back can be customised making the camera easier to control for some of the functions. The Sony NEX-C3 produces DSLR image quality with extremely low noise, and performance is impressive with 5.5fps shooting.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Whatdigitalcamera reviews the Sony NEX-C3 and writes;
“The C3’s new sensor is a success, images look great and the camera’s smaller design looks the part too. The price is held at a very reasonable sub-£450 point and there’s very little not to like bar some control issues.”
