Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 Reviews

Pocket-Lint reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
” The W300 sits atop Sony’s “W” series of compact digicams. Image quality, as always with such cameras, is good at lower ISOs, but leaves a lot to be desired as sensitivity rises”
Rating: ★★★★☆

GoodGearGuide reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“The DSC-W300′s pictures are clear, vibrant and free of noise and distortion. It performs well in almost any situation and is well-built to handle the rigours of travel.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

DCR reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“mages shot at the lowest sensitivity setting are very sharp with lots of detail. ISO 100 and 200 images are very good, but with a tiny bit less pop and marginally higher noise levels than ISO 80 images. Results at ISO 400 are surprisingly good, but colors are starting to go a little flat…”

CNET reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“W300 is nevertheless a very smart, elegant and responsive compact camera that delivers good results. The resolution advantage is more theoretical than practical, though, because the Sony’s 3x zoom is only of average quality..”
Rating: ★★★★☆

PhotographyBlog reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“Noise is remarkably well controlled up to and including ISO 800, and at ISO 1600 better than most. It’s only when you get to ISO 3200 that you notice a drop in detail, but even then visible grain is kept to a minimum.”

ImagingResource reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“Color was naturally rendered for the most part, even without resorting to Real Color mode. Auto white balance did well in mixed lighting…But it only has a 3x optical zoom (compared to the W170′s 5x zoom). Its image quality sets a new standard for the W-Series, though, and that’s what counts.”

DCViews reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“‘At ISO settings between 800 and 3200, noise becomes more evident, but we feel these images are still perfectly useable. As the grain at the higher ISO settings is reminiscent of conventional film images it could even be considered quite artistic in certain image situations.”

DigitalTrends reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“I have no problems recommending the DSC-W300. You get plenty of pixels, very fast response, optical image stabilization and quick focusing in good light. When shooting in available light without the flash, there’s a bit of a lag saving files to the card but nothing too terrible. ”
Rating: ★★★★☆

CNETAsia reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
The bottom line: Although we like the features and image quality of the W300, it lacks a wide-angle lens which has become a must-have for a premium shooter. While other alternatives in the market may not offer as high a capture resolution as the Sony, they do make up with other features. ”

LuminousLandscape reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“‘I’ve only had it for a short while, and if it wasn’t for my disappointment with the Samsung NV24 HD (whose size and features I quite enjoyed, but whose image quality was found unacceptable for my needs.. I’d suggest that if a shirt-pocket sized camera is on your shopping list, the Sony W300 needs to be considered as a serious contender.”

Cameras.UK reviews the Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 and writes;
“I would say the picture quality delivered by the DSC W300 is good, but nothing really stands out to make the camera exceptional. I would like to have seen more light in some of the photos. ”
