Expert Reviews

Sony CyberShot DSC-W230 Reviews reviews the Casio Exilim EX-S12 and writes;
“The good: Easy mode is fuss-free; flash has good range; nifty exposure bracketing function. The bad: Buttons are too small; images display fair amount of noise and color artifact; flimsy lens; smile shutter slow to respond. The bottom line: At a reasonably low price for budget shoppers, the W230 has quite a few nice features. Unfortunately, the camera has a none too sturdy lens and below-average image quality.

Rating: ★★★☆☆

InfoSync reviews the Casio Exilim EX-S12 and writes;
“Pros: Decent feature set for an entry-level compact. Some impressive image quality. Large LCD.
Cons: No viewfinder. Design—been there, done that. No standout features. “

Rating: ★★★☆☆

PCMag reviews the Casio Exilim EX-S12 and writes;
“The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 has a lot going for it—a great user interface with lots of shooting and editing features, fast shooting speeds, and a decent price—but it loses ground where it counts the most: image quality. “
Rating: ★★½☆☆

MacWorld reviews the Casio Exilim EX-S12 and writes;
“All in all, the Cyber-shot DSC-W230 offers a great bundle of features for the price, as well as a great LCD and a wide-angle lens. Its image quality was acceptable, but we’ve seen like-priced cameras that produce better results. “
Rating: ★★★☆☆

PCWorld reviews the Casio Exilim EX-S12 and writes;
“the W230 earned an overall image quality score of Good. Color accuracy and low levels of distortion were strong suits, but the W230’s flash didn’t do a great job of lighting entire scenes evenly. Flash exposure quality was a weak spot. “

Steve’sDigicams reviews the Casio Exilim EX-S12 and writes;
” the W230 is a decent 12-megapixel ultra-compact model. While it offers many appealing features like speedy performance and a durable and stylish shell, the image quality results lower our recommendation of this model.”

Fabulous Buy | Rating: ★★★★★
I absolutely love this camera! I looked around to find a good review for weeks before buying it but I couldn’t find more than 2 or 3 reviews. As soon as I opened the box I fell in love with this camera. It’s definitely more red than hot pink (which it sort of looks like online). The pictures come out great and there are tons of special features, such as red eye reduction, smile detection, and tons of others that I haven’t had the chance to try out yet.
Even if the picture doesn’t look great when you first take it, when you check it in review it’s usually blur-free and the lighting is fantastic. I was scared to purchase this camera because my old Sony’s lens stopped working after a year, so I bought the 2-year warranty on this just in case, but so far I haven’t had any problems.

Wonderful Product | Rating: ★★★★★
I have found this camera to be very useful and stylish. Its sleek and the picture quality is very sharp. It has all the standard features that you would expect from an advanced camera. Since I already have most of the electronics from Sony, so there was hardly any need to go thru the user manual. There were no compatibility issues. In a price of less than $200, I have received latest technology and stylish digital camera that has a big display screen. All in all, I have found it to exceed my expectations.

    This camera is the worst I ever had. I realy regret my buy, the pictures are extremely grainy even on the camera`s display and on a computer they are useless. my old canon a580 had much better picture quality and in low light even my phone (lg kf750) makes better pictures. before buying it make sure you test it properly.
