Amazingly small, too small perhaps for larger hands. It proves that miniaturization is no longer limited by technology, but by human factors.

The interface is cleverly space-saving, the dial also functions as four-way rocker and a confirmation button in the middle. It’s so small, you need to pay special attention to push the button.

The camera noticably takes multiple shots in one press of shutter button in low light conditions, a nice ‘cheating’ to obtain a better picture. The zooming is very fast; in some situation–particularly during video taking–maybe too fast.

Wi-fi setup is quick and straightforward; just install the PlayMemories on the smartphone (Android and Apple) and notebook, and it works without a glitch. Photos taken by camera are saved automatically and concurrently on the smartphone too.

Loss of detail occurs when flash is used indoor at night with moderate lighting: a person 8 meters away is unrecognizable, most likely due to high (automatic) ISO setting.

All in all, it’s a very nice little camera with excellent value, but don’t expect miracles.
