When it comes to entertaining, the living room is the hub. Connect all your devices to the station just one time and it also works as a charger for the camera.
The complete high-definition photo viewing solution is the Sony DPP-FPHD1 package, which includes the high-definition component cable, a Cyber-shot cradle, a remote commander and a high-definition printer with component HD output. Designed to complement any living room, this new printer comes in elegant black and can be positioned horizontally or vertically. As you view your pictures, you can print the ones you want to hand out as party mementos, on the spot, in about 45 seconds.
All of the new cameras are equipped with a built-in slide show function. You can play back your images, complete with dynamic transitions choreographed to your choice of music clips.
Don’t Let Bad Photos Kill The Buzz
The party people will look fabulous in every shot with Sony’s new face detection technology. It can identify up to eight faces in the camera’s LCD frame, and automatically adjust white balance and flash as well as focus and exposure for sharp, clear photos.
Shooting in low light doesn’t have to result in blurry, grainy photos. Sony’s Super Steady Shot® optical image stabilization counters camera shake and stabilize images so you can easily shoot with longer exposure times. Armed with high light sensitivity (up to ISO 3200), you can also shoot at higher shutter speeds without using the cameras’ flash and spoiling the mood of the pictures. Sony’s Clear RAW ™ noise reduction technology will help reduce the picture noise common to low-light exposures.
Technology That Won’t Slow You Down
Sony’s new T-series cameras are powered by the Bionz™ processing engine, first used in Sony’s Alpha digital SLR camera system. Not only does this robust processing engine deliver the fast image processing speeds needed to produce color-rich, detailed pictures for true high-definition photo viewing, it also speeds up the cameras’ response times and extends battery life.
Slide their lens covers down and these cameras are ready to shoot in less than a second and prepared for the next shot in about a second. They’ll keep snapping for the duration of the party – on a full charge, up to 380 shots for the T100 camera and 340 shots for the T20 model.
You can edit PC-free with these cameras’ internal functions. Red-eye correction and dynamic range optimization to adjust under- or over-exposed areas can be performed without having to make a lot of adjustments to the camera. Photos can be retouched and enlivened on the spot with up to four filter selections, such as the fish-eye filter for an amusing fishbowl effect.
The T100 camera will ship in March for about $400, and the T20 will be available in April for about $330. Options will include batteries, travel chargers, lenses, filters, sports packs and cases. I have problem with my sony camera DCS - T100, i took many pictures now i am not able to see some of my pictures it show me file error in camera, and i download it in my PC still the same problem, one thing that it made me sure i can restore them, that is the size of my pcitures all of them has size like 2 MB, 2,4 MB and so on if you people can help me plzzzzzzzzzzzzz to restore my pictures or open them, they are really my important Pictures.

I am having the same issue. I cannot view the last 30-40 pictures I took with the camera. The file sizes differs on each of the pictures.
Can anyone help?
just try changing your memory stick.. buy a original from sony.
it helped me, so it will help you too.. i am trying my new one.. if the problem persists i will surely come back here

I had this problem with an eBay-purchased, Sony-branded, memory card as wells as with a SanDisk card purchased at Costco. I then purchased a Sony Card at Circuit City and have had no further problems. Those same cards work fine in other applications, so apparently the T100/T200 are “finicky” about memory cards.
i am muzammil.. i bought this camera some 2 days back.. it is having the same problem of “file error” . i am using a 1 gb card and when i take some 100-120 pics i cant take more pictures.. it shows “file error” with a totally blue screen.. the camera seems to be taking pictures but the pictures are not actually stored.. just shift to playback mode and u will see that all the pictures u took are not retrievable.. plz help me cure this problem!! i am very sad and tensed.. i bought this camera from vietnam 2 days back on a trip and cant take it to a sony repair centre here.. plz help!!

Have you tried to email the Sony support in your region?
Try to go to http://www.sony.com, then follow the link to go to your regional sony website. You should be able to find the contact support email add or phone no. from there. Ask them about your problem, they should be able to come up with a solution.
i have contacted online support from sony, and they provided me with a solution.. the problem was with the memory card that i was using. it was not genuine. vietnam ppl are cheaters.. tho they cant cheat with the camera!! its a highly sofisticated one!! but the gave me a very genuine looking cheap memory card.. thanks to online support from sony, my problem has finally resolved!! sony!! keep going ppl.. they are having online customer care executives which will resolve your problems in minutes.. if it is like that of mine.. i am not a sony fan.. i feel canon is equally good in quality, but i am so relaxed after this problem got resolved..

glad to hear about resolution. Were you able to recover the “blue screen” files, or is your problem resolved only moving forward by using a new/genuine card?
The files on my old card cannot be restored.. they were never written properly on the card!! Changing the card only helps… even tho the properties of the files showed a size of 2-3 MB but they were not written properly on the card, so change the card .. that will surely help. i have been using my new card from a long time now.. it is just wonderfull and error free.

I noticed that this “File Error” blue screen happens when I take a pic without flash. I’m thinking the Sony software doesn’t process it correctly.
I have noticed another bug in the Sony T100. Sometimes the camera shuts off and restarts by itself.
your card is not proper.. buy a new 1gb to 4gb card from sony store.. those cards( the 1 u r using) look exactly the same as genuine.. but they are fake.. buying one from sony store will only help.. try that out and reply, i will get an intimation on my email. Regards, Muzammil
Same problem here. Using genuine 4 gig Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo MagicGate that I bought from Abe’s of Maine. All was working properly until around picture number 500. Then all further pics said “file error” and not recoverable. I reformatted the card and am hoping for the best. Emailed Sony and am awaiting reply currently.
(Comments wont nest below this level)On phone with Sony now…they are saying that this can sometimes happen if you use the memory card for the first time without formatting it. I know for a fact that I popped the card into the camera right out of the package and just started shooting.
Since the problem, I have formatted the card and I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Well folks, I am sorry to say that formatting the card did NOT work. I just recently started experiencing the “file error” again and also several photos now seem to have pieces of other, older photos stitched into them like a patchwork quilt of photos. These memory problems seem to happen immediately as the photo is taken. The affected photos are ruined/lost forever. I’m still not sure if this is the card or the camera. My last resort is to get a new card and see if the problem happens again. If it does, I am returning this camera.

Robin, I have not found a solution. I can’t send the camera back to Sony for a diagnosis until I experience the problem again, which I have not, for the past month. I even sit around taking photo after photo of random items, in hope that this will happen again, but no luck.
Here is what I plan to do in the meantime:
I bought a second card. This card looks different from my first card. The packaging is blue, not burgundy. I suspect my first card is a counterfeit, even though it does have the iridescent Sony label on the package, and I bought it from Abe’s of Maine.
If the problem happens again, I’ll switch immediately to the second card, which should at least get me through the day until I can get back to a PC, offload pics, and reformat my card. Hopefully, it’s a card problem in the first place. Also, another solution I might try is to immediately create a new folder on the card I am using in hopes that it will clear out a new sector of memory on that card. I have never shot using folders before, but this time I intend to try.
It’s very frustrating waiting to duplicate an error that is so random.
Hi, I bought a Cybershot T20 plus a Sony 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (MSX-N2GN)from eBuyer.co.uk. I have the same problem/ symptoms as Robin & Debra above.
Photos were OK ref in-built memory + first few on Stick but then overlapping/ wrong colours on Stick even though formatted in camera first. Reformatting did not cure.
I will be surprised if eBuyer has traded stock of fake cards. I hope suppliers aren’t going to argue about this.
Andy, are you of the opinion that this is a card issue, or a camera issue? I see that you have a different model of Sony camera. That may mean it’s a Sony issue, which is a much worse scenario than a card issue.

I did further tests (reformat and using only inbuilt memory) on the camera and it was 90+ % clear a Memory Stick problem.
If you search on the web there a huge number of references to fake memory for certain Sony and Sandisk Memory Stick products. On eBay (and elsewhere) there is a detailed post of the packaging and labelling of the fake products ref the proper Sony ones. See:

This fake memory is faulty and not necessarily even the correct # of GBs. So I surprised that my supplier stocked fakes but it does explain why it was about 60% of the typical cost from similar well known cost-cutting online suppliers in UK.

Mine says HIGH SPEED on the card just like this one does. My new card, purchased from Amazon, is in blue packaging instead of red packaging. It does not say HIGH SPEED on the card. Another clue that my old one is fake is that the plastic adapter does not work. I must do a final test on the new card with its plastic adapter and if it does work, I will conclude that my red card is fake.
how do you make a file and put pictures in it on the camera? i have the older version (7.2 mega pixels DSC-W80) i wanna put pictures from one event in one file and another in another file. HELP!!!

We have been consistently getting the queries relating to “file error” message in cybershot t-series camera..having smudged images and all..
Please buy genuine card from sony store and please do not buy any other card from anywhere from this world.. tho those cards may work well in other gadgets of your.. they will not work in cybershot t-100, T-200 and all others.. stop wasting your time and buy genuine sony card.. thats the only advice i can give after using the camera for around six months or so.. no more “file error” problems needs to be discussed.. its the permanent solution to all!!

I think your recommendation to only buy from Sony stores is too simplistic. There is a free market with many outlets that sell genuine Sony products at significantly less than the price Sony charge and I can’t afford to ignore that.
The problem here is not only that dubious sellers on eBay are knowingly selling fakes but that buyers from reputable web-based companies are also being hoaxed into buying product for resale. Presumably this is because of the scale of fake manufacture and the high profits for “low price” as well as unscrupulous sellers.

how many times are you going to buy a card for your camera? once only!! i think you should give your camera the best memory card it deserves!! i have already said that those card may work excellent or even better than sony cards on a number of products, but there is a problem with cybershot!! so plz buy a genuine sony card.. after all camera catches images which may be a one time occasion in your lifetime!! like the first steps of your child!! having taken a photograph and then realising that the photograph has got smudged because of the card(which is just 3 -4 dollars cheaper than the genuine one) is not acceptable to me. i dont know about your part of the world, but in India genuine sony pro dou 1 gb comes at 32.5 dollars and any other brands cheapest comes at 26 dollars.. plz take a genuine one for this product which is having problems with other cards.. or else dont buy this product at all.. after all canon powershot series works well even on local cards!! the choice is yours..
I agree with Andy. It is extremely difficult to tell that mine is fake. I am still not 100% sure. The packaging is very realistic and the card itself looks fine. Yesterday I checked my “real” one against my “fake” one and I did see several differences. The part that really helps to convince me is that the card adapter that came with my “fake” card does not work. When I check it against the card adapter from the other package, I can feel that it even weighs less, and when held up to the light you can see through it much more, as if it doesn’t even have the proper electronic components and is in fact empty inside. The adapter from the “real” card is heavier and more solid, and more important, it works when I stick it inside my computer.
As for the cards themselves, it’s much harder to tell. The fake card has the correct capacity (4 gigs) and checks out when I check the total space with my computer. The cards look slightly different and even the plastic is more smooth on the real card. The real clues lie with carefully examining the packaging. The packaging on the fake card is sealed with just a few blister dots around the edge. The one with the real card is sealed with a whole bunch of blister stripes all around the edge, but neither one is completely heat sealed all around. The real one includes a little silicone sleeve for the memory card and the fake one contains nothing at all.
Bingo! Just looking at it again I see on the back of the fake one: This product does not contain the memory stick pro duo adaptor. But yes, it did contain a non-working adapter. I think the counterfeiters did screw up on that one. Also, my fake one is labeled for a European market, and has no writing on the back (inside) of the cardboard label. The real one seems to be labeled for the US, and has the warranty printed on the back of the cardboard label, plus there is an additional bar code AND a magentic plastic security tag stuck to it.
The fact that I bought it from Abe’s of Maine (who have been so highly rated on so many web sites) shows that their buyer seems to have genuinely missed the clues.
good observations.. very cleverly done but not every1 can do that.. i will still ask some1 who buys a cybershot t series to buy a card from sony store.. and use other memory cards for mobiles and other gadgets of yours.. this camera is havinga very specific software which will not run on cards of other companies.. give it what it deserves.. or rather cleverly bounded to by sony corp. good way of selling memory cards tho!!

theses dphotojournal ppl are very clever.. the moment i raised the issue these ppl have changed the megapixels from 7.2 to 8.1 !! thats quick service! but y no1 has raised the issue b4?? and for u andy.. i just copy pasted the line from the website.. it was showing 7.2 mega pixels.. if i would have written the line i would have never written the (R) registered sign!! it was because of me that the page was updated on 25th December!! and how can mine be fake when it is having 8.1 megaPs?? read my question again!! atleast i am the one who is helping dphotojournal ppl to quote what is right!!
Muzammil is right, there was a typo with the the camera specs before and we changed the megapixels right after reading the note from him/her. Hope that clears everything up. Cheers!

I bought one SONY DSC T100 digital camera. from HOMESHOP18.COM.I received it on the 18th Nov. At the begining it was very pleasant experience. i shot almost 200 pics on different occassions. Recently ( to be precise we went to one Park nearby in the evening and I wanted to take pics but it was blurred and whole pic was red/purple colored. I thought , possibly it was some sort of setting problem. I did not attempt to take pics. same day at night I tried to take pics, to my surprise it was a perfectly alright. I did not change any setting. Few days later I went to VIZAG . As I attempted to take pics there, some were alright while some were totally violet/red colored. However black & white pics awer ok. Is it a problem with image processor ( I showed it to Sony Service center & I was told it was problem of Image Processor) or is it problem with Memory card. I use 1 GB Memory Stick PRO DUO of SONY, purchased from SONY WORLD . Please help
the good thing about this camera is that it is fitted with good internal memory.. try taking pics without the memory card.. if they are ok, its memory card related. the camera has a feature of “color mode selection” here you can select normal, vivid, natural, sepia, black and white modes.. use the normal mode! use the burst feature to take pics in succession, if any1 image catches the problem which you mentioned your camera needs repair.. but do all this with the internal memory!! delete your internal memory to use it again and again to find the cause of the problem.. if the problem doesnt occur in internal memory.. u know what to do.. change the card man!

I too have been having problems with my sony T100 camera.
I can take quite a few photos, it varies each time and then suddenly it says ‘file error’ on a blue screen and I can’t take anymore photos. This really upset me recently as I was at my friends wedding when it happended.
I’m worrying quite alot now as I am going travelling soon and can not afford a new camera.
Are people recommending that I just buy a new memory stick? Do you think I have a fake one even though it has sony written on it?
I can’t send the camera back to sony as unfortunatley I bought the camera in Dubai.

you know what to do if u have read every comment on this page. just go and buy a memory card from sony store for your camera. on a 1gb card you can take around 350 pics at 8 megapixel setting. dont buy the card online!! they are fake. and remain tension free. and let me tell you.. this camera is just brilliant!!

I live in India and i dont know any sony online here.. this website is seen worldwide and not every place is having online sony!! u keep mum and just apply logic.. i am writing this considering ppl from around the world(without online sony too) are reading this one.. just helping others doesnt make me a sales representative!! andy you are just impossible.. this is not a chatting website, keep mum when you dont understand the logic which intelligent ppl like me( i am a research scientist with a pharmaceutical company) are applying!! moreover i dont need that job from sony, but i will still keep giving solutions to problems which other ppl need desperately!! and one more thing.. if you cant help others, dont keep others from helping them.. if dphotojournal ppl are reading this.. keep Andy the chat machine off the track!!

For those of you that buying a new sony mem card worked good for you but probably most of you that didn’t even worked. Every card I own was purchased at sony store and not online I mean the live with people you can touch Sony store. I get that message and guess what I take out the little mem card and I get the same message when I use the internal memory so nope people don’t go out to buy a new card thats not gonna solve it unless it is in fact that your mem card is defective.
Keep looking and if I stumble with the answer I will let you guys know but please don’t go crazy buying a card that will make you spend $30-$50 depending what you want and end up with the problem again, maybe not immediately but eventually. Problem is somewhere else.

I dont know what to say as even my camera has got a problem.
On Gabriel Islnds, Mauritius; Dated 25th Jan 2009 when i was taking pics on the beach, My camera was hit by a curious and furious “tsunami” like wave and from then onwards its + zoom button is not working. From then onwards i am unable to use my zoom.. As i have bought the camera from grey market of Vietnam i just cant get the warranty applicable usually.. and the money which sony ppl are asking for getting it done is too much for the “zoom” feature.. i have even opened the back flap and tried to remove any dust/salt from underneath the button but it didnt work. planning to buy a new SLR type now. may be Nikon D40.. is it better than t100?
I have a Sony T200 and also experience “file error” randomly when I playback the pictures. I have 4GB High Speed pro duo and reading the above comments had led me to believe that the memory I bought is not an original. I bought it from a Computer Supplier store and the price was really cheaper compared from the Sony store in the malls. I would like to compare and think that the Sony T200 is similar to a Sony DVD player wherein some pirated or bootleg DVD disks could not be playbacked but can be read/playbacked on other brand DVD players.
This is not just a memory card problem on some peoples cameras though is it!? myT100 has been back to sony once already and came back to me with no explanation of the problem but i was told it was fixed, well what do you no, 3 photos later and im getting the file error mesage again!!! Mememory stick or internal memory are both the same, the only time the photo records correctly on the card or internal memory is when the flash goes off!!
Guess this peice of s**t is goig back to Sony AGAIN!!!!
