Sony Alpha NEX-7 Reviews

Techradar reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“The tough magnesium body is lightweight and reassuringly robust for the most part. Experienced photographers will love the quick access to manual controls, customisable function buttons and rich, detailed images provided by the Exmor CMOS sensor. The quality of the video recorded is also excellent, and serious videographers will love the manual control and ability to attach an external microphone.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Imaging-resource reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“the Sony NEX-7′s performance was generally excellent for a Compact System Camera. Autofocus is on par with most SLRs, prefocused shutter lag is faster than any SLR we’ve ever tested, and Speed Priority burst mode was faster than most professional SLRs (though the NEX-7 won’t track focus or adjust exposure in that mode).”
rating: N/A

Photoreview reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“Colours in test shots appeared natural and even traditionally difficult-to-record blues and purples were handled very well… Imatest showed saturation to be well-contained but revealed a few hue shifts that affected mainly the warmer hues. Skin colours were a tad warm, which some people may prefer.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Photographyblog reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“Chromatic aberrations are very well controlled, only appearing in areas of high contrast. The 24 megapixel images are a little soft straight out of the camera using the default creative style and ideally require some further sharpening in an application like Adobe Photoshop, or you can change the in-camera sharpening level. The built-in flash worked well indoors with no red-eye and good overall exposure.”
Rating: ★★★★★

Dcresource reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“Sony exceeded my expectations (by quite a lot) with the NEX-7, which can produce photos of excellent quality. Exposure was generally spot-on, with highlight clipping being relatively low. Colors looked very good, even under our studio lights. Noise is kept in check until around ISO 1600, and ISO 3200 in good light. Shooting RAW should allow you to squeeze even more detail out of the camera.”
rating: N/A

Digitalcamerareview reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“HD Video quality in the NEX-7 is quite good. The camera has a CMOS sensor, but rolling shutter effect is muted in all but the most exaggerated panning speeds. The dedicated movie capture button is handy and the camera performs auto focus and exposure continuously while recording, but users can now set exposure and focus manually should they desire to do so.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Stevehuffphoto reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“The video on this camera is the best I have shot with in a non full frame camera. The options are a plenty and the quality, even in low light is GREAT. Pop on a lens with IS and you will get smooth and saturated jello free HD video. You can shoot at 24P, 60P, 60i all in 1080 resolution. The video of the stock NEX-7 kit is exceptional and beats most $1000 video cameras.”
rating: N/A

CNET reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“On default settings using automatic exposures, photos look excellent, with great colour saturation and very pleasing skin tones. The 18-55mm lens is able to resolve a lot of detail, and sharpness is very good edge to edge”
Rating: ★★★★½

Expertreviews reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“The video capture mode is outstanding. Recordings are in AVCHD format at 25fps or 50fps (progressive scan or interlaced), with bit rates up to 28Mbit/s ensuring minimal compression artefacts. Autofocus was smooth and silent, and the lens’s zoom ring is nicely damped to enable smooth zooms.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Pocket-lint reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“the movie mode is great and the 10fps burst mode is an attractive option. Image quality is impressive, even more so when considering the huge 24.3-megapixel resolution that the camera delivers.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Digitaltrends reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“At 12,800 there was a dramatic shift and 16,000 was slightly worse. However, let’s put this in context—the results were outstanding. We did our test with the Zeiss 24mm lens which has built-in optical image stabilization and even at slow shutter speeds, images were crisp and sharp.”
Rating: ★★★★½

PCMAG reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“The NEX-7 captures 1080p60, 1080i60, or 1080p24 footage in AVCHD format with full-time autofocus. Footage looks fantastic, and if you put a fast lens that is capable of creating a shallow depth of field on the camera, the results can be stunning.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Digitalcamerainfo reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“In terms of all-around performance, though, the NEX-7 is, quite simply, the best mirrorless camera we have tested to date. Its combination of control, image quality, responsiveness, video capability, color accuracy, dynamic range, hardware features, and superb handling make it the kind of camera any photographer—professional or amateur—should love to have in their bag.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Ephotozine reviews the Sony Alpha NEX-7 and writes;
“It is capable of taking detailed colourful photos in a variety of situations with good ISO performance up to ISO3200. Handling is good with the body providing a large rubberised grip and a number of external controls.”
Rating: ★★★★½
