SmugMug and Adobe have partnered up on photo-sharing. Adobe’s latest release of Photoshop Elements 5.0 software now allows customers to upload their photos directly into SmugMug galleries.
Now when users finish editing their photos in Photoshop Elements 5.0 instead of first downloading the file onto their own computer and then uploading the photo into SmugMug, they skip that step entirely and can upload directly to SmugMug from the share menu inside of Photoshop Elements 5.0.

Custom online albums are a click away for Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 users
Photoshop Elements 5.0 gives the power to enhance, SmugMug the power to flaunt, says SmugMug founder.
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – September 13, 2006 – SmugMug today announced its collaborative work with Adobe to give Photoshop Elements 5.0 software users a simple way to share photos online.
“Photoshop Elements 5.0 software can make ordinary photos gorgeous,” said Chris MacAskill, co-founder and President, SmugMug Inc. “Why put important photos in generic albums when you can flaunt them in style?”
The new Photoshop Elements 5.0 software offers new and more flexible ways for consumers to organize files, edit images with ease and share photos in engaging and innovative ways. Within Photoshop Elements 5.0 software consumers have the option to send photos directly to SmugMug, which offers stunning online albums. The only requirement is an Internet connection and a SmugMug account—which is simple to open.
“As consumers become more comfortable with digital photography they are getting more creative with their photos and how they share them,” said Deborah Whitman, vice president of product management for Digital Imaging at Adobe. “SmugMug’s online albums give people a wide array of creative options for sharing their photos.”
SmugMug comes with more than 50 stunning themes designed by independent graphic artists that include Bon Voyage (travel), Daddy’s Girl, Halloween, Fine Art, Wedding and Old Family Album. SmugMug users can design their own themes or modify the built-in ones using many of the creative tools in Photoshop Elements 5.0.
SmugMug is unique among Internet companies. Family owned and profitable since 2002, it has thrived where many premium brands and venture-backed startups have failed. It combines the most advanced Web 2.0 technology with old-fashioned customer service that is almost unheard of on the Internet. It hosts more than 100,000,000 photos for over 200,000 customers that include soccer moms, soldiers, senators, amateur and pro photographers. It’s the only fully customizable popular photo-sharing site.
