Sigma DP3 Merrill Reviews
Photographyblog reviews the Sigma DP3 Merrill and writes;
“Image quality is the DP3 Merrill’s star turn, indeed the principal reason to put up with its numerous other shortcomings. The Foveon X3 sensor, be it 46 megapixel or 15 megapixels, and the prime 50mm lens deliver stunningly sharp, high-resolution images that are a joy to behold.”

Luminous-landscape reviews the Sigma DP3 Merrill and writes;
“The 50mm f2.8 Macro is a damn sharp lens equipped with a leaf shutter. This is good for photographers who shoot products, food, fabrics, beauty, and … well… a lot of things, even speed shoots.”

PCMAG reviews the Sigma DP3 Merrill and writes;
“Imatest also measures noise, which robs detail and makes images look grainy when it crosses the 1.5 percent threshold. Despite sharing the same image sensor, the DP3 Merrill does a better job at handling image noise than its sibling the DP1 Merrill. It keeps noise below 1.5 percent through ISO 400, and images at ISO 800 clock in at a very respectable 1.6 percent.”

Sigma DP3 Merrill User Reviews
Image quality is the only reason to get this camera
“It exists for one reason only: the image quality capable form the Foveon sensor and the superb lens. Be it 15 or 45 MP, makes no difference. Put it on a tripod, shoot it in decent light at ISO 100, make an 11 x 14 print from this camera and any current DSLR, no matter what the megapixel count, and compare the two and you will see what I mean.” – By Teddy W. Raper

Remarkable images from little camera
“The amount of well defined detail in enlargements from the files this camera produces is remarkable–more like medium-format film. The images show nice neutral colors and excellent detail in shade with a seeming unique light to shade relationship/quality on a monitor which is hard to define.” – By Douglas Henderson

“It is a specialty camera for art photography, personally I love it for the range of resolution it can give not to mention color saturation use in raw, think blade runner, your picture is larger than you think, some will love it, others will hate it.” – By Thad
