Sigma DP2 Merril Reviews

Ephotozine reviews the Sigma DP2 Merril and writes;
“The Sigma DP2 Merrill has an excellent lens and sensor and is capable of producing stunning images with excellent colour and outstanding levels of detail.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

Photographyblog reviews the Sigma DP2 Merril and writes;
“Image quality is the DP2 Merrill’s star turn, indeed the principal reason to put up with its numerous other shortcomings. The Foveon X3 sensor, be it 46 megapixel or 15 megapixels, and the prime 30mm lens deliver stunningly sharp, high-resolution images that are a joy to behold.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Luminous-landscape reviews the Sigma DP2 Merril and writes;
“With in-camera sharpening set to 0 and similarly in SPP, I find that most files show very high but usually appropriate sharpness (edge contrast). I will sometimes dial it down a notch in SPP, but I’ve never found a need to increase sharpening in Lightroom.”
rating: N/A

Stevehuffphoto reviews the Sigma DP2 Merril and writes;
“Basically no one would be disappointed with the Sigma DP2 Merrill Image Quality. No one. It has deep and rich color, superb dynamic range, gobs of detail and this time around has plenty of resolution as well with super large 50-60MB files.”
rating: N/A

Amateurphotographer reviews the Sigma DP2 Merril and writes;
“It is clear that Sigma has created a niche camera in the DP2 Merrill. For its intended audience, the camera works very well indeed. In good-contrast light, I have not seen such a high standard of performance from a camera at this level, and the DP2 outperforms many cameras above it, too. Furthermore, its handling when using the command dial is intuitive.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Digitalcamerareview reviews the Sigma DP2 Merril and writes;
“640 x 480 VGA resolution video and mono sound lag behind virtually every camera in the class including entry-level models costing hundreds of dollars less. ISO noise performance deteriorates rapidly beyond 800 ISO, leaving the DP2 a relatively narrow range from 100 to 800 for decent image quality.”
Rating: ★★★½☆
