Our Review

Features & Design

The Samsung NX30 has a highly qualified upgrade from the previous model but the body design does not differ much from the NX20. Although the body has a larger size for a class of mirrorless camera but feels quite compact compared to traditional DSLR. Grip is quite thick and comfortable with a nice little touch of rubber. Most of the material for the body is plastic so it does not appear to have a premium look but it just makes it more lightweight and comfortable to use.

Besides, this camera has an electronic viewfinder that is unique that lets you pull it out of the body and tilted upward. Thanks to the sharpness and versatility of the viewfinder clearly helping users shoot every precious moment. In addition, the camera has a screen which can also be articulated in vary-angle which lets users capture images from different angles. The AMOLED screen is very bright and sharp with a resolution of 1073k-dots making it easier for users to see the picture even under bright sunlight.

Features that are not less interesting is the rapid control access and the menu design that is easy to understand. There are two options that you can use to access and control the camera settings. The first one you can use the settings button on the top and back of the camera which is supported by the Fn button to access the menu quickly and the second is using the touch of your fingertips on the touch screen to access the camera menu such as shutter speed, aperture, focus, ISO, and various other settings.

In our opinion, the combination of compact body design and rapid control plus a range of features that make the Samsung NX30 qualified quite popular and eagerly awaited by users of mirroless camera or DSLR cameras who want to upgrade to a higher level. Not only that, its connectivity is also very promising by using the latest WiFi connectivity and NFC are very easy to use to upload and share photos and videos.

Performance & Image Quality

Samsung NX30 really offer improved performance at an amazing speed. The camera is capable of shooting RAW files with the speed 9fps at maximum shutter speed 1/8000 sec. Meanwhile, to improve focus speed, Samsung has invested a hybrid autofocus system that combines contrast detection and phase detection which is very fast. The images processor has been upgraded as well be one of the main factors that give superior performance for process images quickly.

Featuring a CMOS sensor which has a 20.3-Megapixel resolution, the Samsung NX30 is capable of producing high quality images. Thanks to the enhanced ISO settings from ISO100 to ISO25.600, this camera lets you get a very good picture even in low light situations. Meanwhile, NX AF System II ensures the camera autofocus is fast and accurate, thus giving you more opportunities to shoot every precious moment with professional level image quality.

Additionally, this camera also allows you to become a videographer to record Full HD video which supported by hot-shoe 3.5mm microphone for adding an external microphone so the video has a high sound quality. The level of sound quality can also be adjusted manually to get better sound quality. You can use an HDMI that lets you stream live video on the television screen.

Other features of this camera include Tag & Go function to tag and share your photos quickly, Photo Beam for easy transfer of images or videos on a smartphone or tablet. MobileLink feature can be used to transfer multiple images at once in a single transfer. Meanwhile, the i-Function feature can used to access the camera settings such as shutter speed and aperture with just one touch.

Should I buy the camera?

Overall, the Samsung NX30 has good specification, great performance, and high image quality when compared to the Mirrorless camera in its class. Flexibility electronic viewfinder and a touch screen monitor that can be tilted are two main features are very interesting and quite helpful in shooting. Ease of access and control of the menu is also a factor that becomes an alternative option for a camera like this. We highly recommend this camera for users who want to get a camera mirroless that led them to a higher level.
