Samsung i70 Reviews reviews the Samsung i70 and writes;
“What I like about the i70 is it’s super slinky design and range of multimedia features. I was also impressed by the accuracy of colours in the colour chart test. The portrait test produced good results, but results of the landscape mode and ISO test were disappointing and the camera sometimes struggles to achieve a sharp result.
Rating: ★★★½☆

ePhotozine reviews the Samsung i70 and writes;
“The Samsung Digimax i70 is a stylish and smart camera. It has a sliding body and can also be used as an MP3 player. As far as Im concerned that is probably the end of the good news! Sorry I just didnt get on with this camera and a number of picture quality issues arose during my testing.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Samsung i70 Press Release

Samsung Launches the Innovatively Designed i70

8 January 2007 – Samsung today announced the launch of the 7.2 mega-pixel i70, featuring 3x zoom and a large 3.0” LCD. This premium camera features an innovative sliding cover which, when opened, reveals the intuitive 9-button User Interface. The i70 has an eye-catching, body design and special surface finish. This combines with multimedia capabilities to make it a particularly attractive camera for people who demand entertainment on the move.

The Samsung i70’s multimedia capabilities include a Portable Media Player and an MP3 player so the user can have video and music on the go. It also has a text viewer that enables you to read whilst listening to music. The I(Intelligent)-movie capability supports TV quality MPEG-4 (720×480) at 15fps, combining with image stabilisation and in camera editing.

The i70 includes Samsung’s Intelligent Face Recognition Technology, which detects the subject’s face, automatically adjusts auto focus and auto exposure to ensure better composition and image quality in portraits, and other shots featuring people. The AF function instantaneously recognises the faces of subjects and accurately focuses on them. The AE function then takes over, setting the appropriate exposure to ensure the highest image quality.

Tried i70 , had high expectation from it , but it was disappointed from the picture quality at low light. Outdoor picture is normal, sunlight was also below standard.This I compared with my previous Sony camera CyberShot P73 series.

Only plus point of the camera is its design. But camera is meant to take picture, isn’t it?. On that front it is a failure

Overall, I will not suggest others to buy this camera.

My mother has nothing but problems with this camera. The lastest issue is that the camera turns itself off within a few sec without any functionality.
