Ricoh GR Reviews
PCMAG reviews the Ricoh GR and writes;
“If you’re a fan of the wide field of view provided by a 28mm lens, the Ricoh GR is the compact camera to get. It’s sharp, fast, and it does well in all kinds of light. Its closest competitors are the Nikon Coolpix A and the Sigma DP1 Merrill.”
Photographyblog reviews the Ricoh GR and writes;
“The Ricoh GR also excels in the speed department, with snappy autofocusing, fast power-on, shutter-lag and shot-to-shot times, and even 4fps burst mode for both unlimited JPEGs and a small number of RAW files. The proven Snap AF mode makes the GR perfect for street-shooters, with the 35mm crop mode and the 21mm conversion lens very handy for those who desire a closer or wider view than the 28mm lens provides.”
Techradar reviews the Ricoh GR and writes;
“We’re quite excited about the Ricoh GR. It’s very nicely built, has all the control that we want and it can shoot both raw and JPEG files. Although we have seen prints of a couple of impressive sample images from Ricoh, we will reserve judgement about the image quality until we have shot some pictures. However, Ricoh has a reputation for producing cameras that capture plenty of detail, with a tendency to reveal some noise.”
Digitalcameraworld reviews the Ricoh GR and writes;
“It will be interesting to see if this camera manages to capture the imagination of the experienced user looking for a backup compact that is capable of delivering excellent images.”

Ricoh GR Features
Ricoh GR combines a 16.2MP APS-C size sensor with the GR Engine V Image Processor to capture sharp, high resolution image with fast response time. The sensor is designed without the optical low-pass filter in order to produce particularly sharp details. Not only does it, the camera comes with a fixed focal length 18.3mm lens which has the 35mm equivalency of a 28mm lens, and with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 enables you to shoot in low light situations and produce shallow depth of field images. The lens construction consists of two aspherical elements that minimize aberrations for sharpness from corner to corner within the frame.
This camera also has an ISO range from 100-25600 provides further low light capability and the GR Engine V works to keep noise-levels down, even at high ISOs. It also enables you to record Full HD 1080p video with continuous autofocus during shooting. You can view your photos and videos on a 3.0-inch LCD monitor which offers 1,230k-dot resolution for easy compose and playback viewing.
In addition, Ricoh GR has a pop-up flash and hot shoe mount with a dual-axis electronic level for proper image alignment.
