Ricoh GR Digital IV is a new compact digital camera with a fixed 28mm lens designed for keen photographers. It offers the new Hybrid auto-focus system, image processing engine, sensor-shift image stabilization, a refined optical filter and a higher-resolution LCD screen. In addition, the 28mm fixed focal length lens has a maximum aperture of f/1.9 while the image processor of Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV increasing the image quality and speed, and the 3-inch LCD screen provides a high-resolution with 1.23 million-dots including a high-sensitivity 1/1.75-inch CCD image sensor with 10 megapixels which allows images recorded as JPEGs or in the Adobe DNG RAW format. The camera has also a pop-up flash and an external hotshoe which can attach a flashgun or the optional electronic viewfinder.

Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV Features


The Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV camera uses a magnesium alloy that makes the body both light and highly rigid. It has the durability to withstand both shocks as well as being carried. The camera also has excellent heat radiation and magnetic shielding characteristics. With small dimension, the camera allows you to hold it with just one hand and also a large rubberized hand grip including a small area of the same material acting as a thumb rest on the rear of the body. Equipped with a 28 mm (35mm equiv) lens that perfect for wide-angle shots including an image stabilization feature to increase maximum ISO speed of 3200, shutter speed setting in Auto High ISO mode, and setting the upper limit of the ISO sensitivity.


10 megapixels CCD Images Sensor

The camera has a 10 megapixel “high-sensitivity” images sensor to improve low-light photos. The images control allows you to control the low-light settings naturally. The Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV also allow you to shoot with high ISO in low-light conditions such as at night or indoors.

3.0-inch Transparent LCD (approx. 1,230,000 dots)

Featuring a 3.0-inch Transparent LCD monitor with 1,230,000 dots, the Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV gives the maximum brightness of images viewing and easy to preview your image even at outdoors conditions. The brightness of the image monitor will adjust automatically when you set the brightness in Auto mode. With size of 3.0-inch, the monitor provide a wide viewing angle which allows you to view the images from various directions. And for improve the convenience and keeps the comfort level, the camera also can be display the distance information of subject that calculated by the external autofocus sensor.


Hybrid Autofocus System

Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV also offers a hybrid autofocus system that combines an external auto focus with a conventional contrast autofocus system to provide high-speed performance and high-precision distance calculations for up to 190 points. It take about 0.5 second to store a JPEG image and about 3 seconds to store a RAW image. The camera has improved the algorithm to increase the autofocusing speed two times even for macro autofocusing that uses only the contrast autofocus system. It also use the new AF-Continuous mode, with a shutter-release button is pressed to takes a series of photos and adjusts its focus on the subject at the same time using the external autofocus system, which proves very useful for quick-moving subjects.
