Very good product, easy to use, powerful features
“I was looking for a frame that I could connect to the Internet so that all the family can send me pictures. As i am not technically savvy I was a bit reluctant at the beginning with this kind of device but decided to finally give a try. I must say that even for a person like me it was very easy to configure the WiFi connection, register the frame to get an email address and start receiving pictures in a few minutes! “My main criteria in choosing this digital picture frame were: picture clarity, easy to set-up and use, Internet connection for picture sharing, at a good price-to-value ratio. Pretty good product
“Our experience out of the box was everything worked great. Then the frame forced us to install an update. After the update, it could no longer see any wifi networks or connect to them manually. Turning off the frame and leaving it off for 10 minutes seemed to fix this problem though. Once things were up and running it works pretty well. Once you have your picasa albums linked on the website you can view them perfectly on the frame and the email to frame feature works well too. Overall fairly happy with the product and just hope it doesn’t stop connecting to wifi again.” – By techguy

“I was looking to fulfill one use case with a photo frame. I wanted to be able to give this frame to my parents pre-configured and be able to remotely send photos to it from my cell phone. While the user interface isn’t the best it does exactly what I want and I’m pleased with the functionality. If you want a hassle-free frame that you can send images to and have them appear remotely this is really a good choice. The Pix-Star PXT408WR01 is the next step in a family of easy-to-use Wi-Fi & Email photo frames from Pix-Star. With the ability to receive and send emails from frame to frame, the need for a computer is completely eliminated, all without a monthly fee. It displays beautiful 800 x 600 resolution photos on an 8-inch screen.
No Touchscreen and no Fingerprints to Wipe Off.
With Frame Channel certification, Pix-Star has now embedded extensive features in its main menu. It provides direct access to read dynamic content on your frame faster and easier, without logging into your online account.
The software interface has also been redesigned to allow for easier navigation. It allows you to optimize the classification of your pictures to display your external web albums, just your local albums, or a “Play All” feature, which regroups all your photos in the same slideshow.
Use the remote or the buttons on the back of the frame for set up.
Easy-to-use Wi-Fi and Email Features
Configuring the Wi-Fi connection with a Pix-Star frame is quick and simple and can be done using a few buttons on the compact remote control. Switch on the frame and make sure the network you want to connect to is reachable from your location. The WiFi configuration is automatically detected and all you need to know is the key if there is encryption on your Wi-Fi network.
Register your frame in a few minutes by visiting www.pix-star.com then enter the product ID, choose a password, a personalized email address and you are ready to send, receive, share and enjoy pictures on your Pix-Star frame.
Each Pix-Star frame has its own personal email address that you choose when you register the product. Anyone who has this email address can send pictures directly to your frame as an email attachment or from their own Pix-Star frame. Worried about spam or unwanted pictures coming to your inbox? Pix-Star is the only Wi-Fi frame with a built in spam blocker so you are protected from unsolicited pictures.
Photo emails can be a maximum of 18MB total. There is no limit to the number of pictures that can be attached in one email but try to limit it to 30 pictures. The slideshow transitions, time display per slide, and brightness can be customized in the frame’s menu.

Internal Memory and Online Albums
By default, Pix-Star displays the pictures on its 1GB internal memory, 10,000 photos on average, which can be obtained via email, SD card, or USB, but it can also display online albums from Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Windows Live, Smugmug, Photobucket, Shutterfly, MobileMe, Phanfar, Koffeephoto and more. All you will need to change is the “source” of the pictures, which can be done in the frame’s menu, no need to log into your online account.

Ongoing Sending, Receiving and Viewing
As soon as photos are added to your frame they will automatically be resized into an 800 x 600 format to fit perfectly in the 8-inch screen, with a high quality display. The LCD screen will reflect your best shots in its 4:3 aspect ratio and photos will be rotated to their proper orientation automatically. An icon informs you when a new photo is received and an indication is displayed on the screen.
You can instantly share your photos for free with your friends and family, who appear in your contact lists. Customize your contact lists directly on your frame or from your account at www.pix-star.com. Send pictures to the people of your choice to their own Pix-Star frame, or to any other email address you want, so they can see what you see. Connecting with distant friends and family through the magic of pictures has never been easier or faster.
Environmentally Responsible
With a power consumption of only 5W, your frame is environmentally friendly. Moreover, thanks to its Eco-mode feature, you don’t have to unplug your Webframe before going to sleep and worry about wasting energy. From the frame’s user interface you can easily schedule the times when your frame will automatically turn on and off. Email will still be received even when your frame is off for the night or weekend.
