Step 8. To add three dimensional effect to your statue: Create new layer, choose gradient tool, set radial gradient, white to black and apply it to your new layer.

Step 9. Change the blend mode to linear burn, and play around with the opacity for your desired result.

So here she is with her new look..

Very nice tutorial, where did you get the stone texture?
Thanks Steve, you can easily find and donwload any stone textures from free photos sites..
Hope that helps..
your result is really beautiful (mine didn’t come out that good, maybe because of the photo and the texture I used. Can you pubish your texture?) but you should have explained the steps more detailed, e.g. are there new layers in STEP 4 and 5?
Norbert..nope, you don’t have to create a new layer in step 4 & 5..
As for the texture, Sorry..I couldn’t find it on my hd, must have deleted it. Try to go to free stock photos sites..They have heaps of good stone textures.
This tutorial is very nice!
I’m tutorial author too but never got such “artistic” idea. I admire to artists like you, i have too technical aproach…
very nice!
Nice tutorial and very creative.
Love the tutorial…but where specificaly did you get the stone texture photo??
How do you do step 3? 🙂
what photo program are you opening these with? i cannot get the stone texture to go over the photo
Wow this is fantastic!
hello.
the photo that you create is fantastic.
well done.
i will be glad if you explain a little more about the blur tool. i dont know what to do…
thank you for your ideas
seriously you NEED to tell us where you got that cracked stone marble texture image. im searching for one but im getting ones that look crappy compared to the one you used. so please please please can you link it or i dont know make it downloadable some how? im sure there are others thats wondering as well.
Very nice tutorial, clear and well-written. It’s rather an elegant look. The only thing I’d fix is to put it all on one page, but that’s the fault of the webmaster not the author. Bloody techies.
I made two of these already! I love it!
it has value… but it is too dark to be of real value… the effectiveness of the tecnique is not quite shown because it is all being blotted out so much… i’d lighten it up a great deal.
Cool tut. I think it needs a bit of extra touched though.
Maybe you should use the “Displace” filter first (other tutorials show the way to do this) in order to make up for the cracking lines.
The crack line over the lips must have some bends over the lips and not going into a straight line I guess.
Good stuff. Keep on!
Any more info on how to do this (drag into) ??? someone has asked this question before (2 years ago) and yet no hints !
Tutorial sounds great HAD it explained the most important step i.e. step 3
Without explaining that step this tutorial is almost useless ! If one has to look for this answer in another tutorial on another site then why would they come back here at all ?!!!
Sorry if I may sound negative but I only mean some contructive criticizm and I thank all your sincere efforts.
Any real help is really appreciated
Cheers
ok cool down, just go data>place or just drag you photo in there
Very well put together however i would like to ask if there is anyway that you know of to add a little more depth to the stone texture for the nose and mouth area i got the eyes to look semi ok but with the mouth and nose you can tell its there but there is not enough concave for it to give it the detail im looking for
I had a hard time knowing how the Step 3 is done actually, until I figured it out. Open the two image (your picture and the stone). Then view them in TILE, so that you could see both image. Then just Drag the Stone Image into your picture. Simple. Works fine with me. Thanks for the tutorial.
Nice tut!
Here’s my new look:
