Pentax K-5 IIs Reviews
Imaging-resource reviews the Pentax K-5 IIs and writes;
“Like almost all Bayer-filtered cameras, the design of the standard Pentax K-5 II places an optical low-pass filter (OLPF) just above the image sensor. This filter is designed to blur incoming light just slightly, so as to prevent aliasing patterns–moiré and ‘jaggies’–from appearing in images.”

PCMAG reviews the Pentax K-5 IIs and writes;
“At ISO 3200, Raw files from the K-5 IIs show less noise than those from the 24-megapixel Sony Alpha 77, although the two cameras do run neck and neck in terms of detail.”

Ephotozine reviews the Pentax K-5 IIs and writes;
“we look at the K-5 IIs and now find not only the II improvements, but a new, totally impressive level of detail in the images. A clarity. It is visible clearly on screen. To have that quality, the lenses are up to it, but a tripod where possible, or at least attention to making sure that camera shake does not take the edge off again, are essential parts of the process.”

Photographyblog reviews the Pentax K-5 IIs and writes;
“The K-5 IIs’ image quality is outstanding, producing noise-free images all the way from from ISO 80-800. Noise starts to become apparent at ISO 1600, with a little more noise and smearing of fine detail at the higher settings of 3200 and 6400, while the fastest speeds of 12800, 25600 are suitable for smaller prints.”

CNET reviews the Pentax K-5 IIs and writes;
“Image quality is excellent, and it’s easy to dial in the exact settings you need to get the result you’re after thanks to some well thought-out controls and a clearly laid-out rear display, supplementing the panel on the top plate.”

Digitalcamerainfo Compares the Pentax K-5 IIs with Pentax K-5 II and writes;
“The K-5 IIs might be a great buy for landscape and portrait photographers who shoot in JPEG and don’t post-process, but those kinds of shooters aren’t likely to notice the subtle sharpness bump (or buy a camera in this price range, for that matter). In the real world, the K-5 II is plenty sharp already, and those interested in getting the most out of it are willing to put in the Photoshop work.”

Digitalversus reviews the Pentax K-5 IIs and writes;
“The K-5 IIs is a high-quality expert SLR. It fell short of a five-star rating due solely to the outdated video function. In still photos, the image quality is remarkable on certain textures. Just don’t be fooled: the moiré issue is no trivial thing.”

Pentax K-5 IIs User Reviews
GOODBYE CANON!
“What the IIs does is make things much harder on Canon and Nikon now because Pentax has mastered the art of squeezing every last ounce of dynamic range, sharpness and overall image quality out of this 16.1MP sensor. Just check out DXO… the lab results don’t lie. This camera blows my old Canon 5DII TO THE WEEDS!!!!” – By Joe

Better then my Canon 5d Mark II
“It’s every bit as clear and detailed as the Canon Full Frames. Focus the eyes and you will see the depth and little details. Hairs are crisp. There is no need to sharpen the images in post like you might have done before. I shoot Raw plus Jpeg, but very rarely use the raw files.” – By Cody L. Conrad

Best DSLR Pentax has ever created
“Focusing speed is vastly improved and in continuous focus mode you can prioritize whether you want the frames per second or focus accuracy. I tracked my son playing singles tennis with the FPS priority and still had crisp shots.” – By Chris Buhlmann

A Step Up
“The K-5iis is lighter weight, the screen and buttons have been arranged to aid faster accessibility, it is quieter, takes photos in much lower light (in and outdoors), it is much easier to trust the auto settings because they turn out with better auto-focus depth of field and less noise (cleaner images …( I hate the term “less noise”). All in all it is a much better camera and I am pleased with my decision.” – By Ed Bob

One nice camera
“Focusing for this camera seems to be fairly accurate. The camera itself is “speedy” at 7FPS. I paired this camera with the Pentax SMC-FA 1.4 50mm and so far the pictures came out very sharp.” – By Jay
