Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm F4-5.6 ASPH Mega OIS Reviews

Ephotozine reviews the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm F4-5.6 ASPH Mega OIS and writes;
“Although the optical performance of this lens may not be up to the lofty heights of some other Micro Four thirds lenses, especially at 150mm, the low price and good features still make this a decent value choice, especially for those after a compact telephoto lens on a budget as sharpness is good to excellent throughout the zoom range in the centre, build quality and handling are excellent too.”

Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm F4-5.6 ASPH Mega OIS User Reviews

Great Lens When Considering Build, Size, Function, IQ & Price
“With the Panasonic 45-150mm I photographed the bookshelf at 45mm, 60mm, 75mm, 100mm, and 150mm. For each of the focal lengths I photographed with the aperture wide open, f/5.6, and f/8. At 100mm and 150mm wide open was f/5.6 so I only took 2 photographs at those focal lengths. I found the image quality to be impressive at wide open with excellent center sharpness and very good corner sharpness.” – By J. Gebauer

Fantastic lens!
“This is a truly fantastic lens. It is small, compact, light weight, and sharp! I previously used the Panasonic 45-200, and immediately sold it after trying this lens. Despite having 50mm less reach, the compact size and improved optics make it the better of the two. And that’s saying a lot — the Panasonic 45-200mm lens is a great lens itself.” – By A. Gray

Budget Compact Telephoto
“The lens, given the micro four thirds limitations, does not perform well in low light, and a sunny day is necessary to bring out its potential, but given the right conditions this lens is incredibly sharp and has a decent bokeh. The sharpness does drop off from about 120-150mm, but not horribly.” – By Idaea

Great kit lens
“Works perfectly with my Panasonic G5. Photos crisp; focus is fast and accurate from short to long zooms. Very happy with results. My first 4/3 camera after DSLR and really like the size and weight; much easier to take on hikes through forest trails.” – By Tina from Brooklyn

Good Zoom for the Price
“Size. it is relatively small compared to a DSLR lens
Cost. I got it for free with the purchase of the G5. Even at full price, this is a pretty good lens to have.” – By JoshT

A fine telephoto zoom for micro 4/3
“I don’t have any complain about sharpness. Built-in image stabilizer works pretty well. Compactness and light weight are also plus for micro four-thirds system comparing to the same equivalent other DSLR lenses. This lens serves in between my Panasonic 14-45mm and 100-300mm zoom.” – By sy

Nice Standard Telephoto Lens
“This is a really nice telephoto lens, with a solid feel to it (metal construction and base). The zoom and focus rings operate very smoothly, unlike the 14-42mm standard zoom lens. A lens hood is included, very nice. The optical image stabilizer works well. The lens is also incredible small, considering the 90-300mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range it covers! Pictures taken with this lens look nice,.. I’m using this with my DMC-G5 camera.” – By Jet Shine
