Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 Reviews

Photographyblog reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 produced images of excellent quality during the review period. It produces noise-free images at ISO 100 to 800, with limited noise starting to appear at ISO 1600. ISO 3200 exhibits quite visible noise and loss of fine detail, and the fastest settings of ISO 6400 and 12800 are even noisier but still usable for small prints and web use.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Techradar reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“Image quality is an area where the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 particularly impresses. Like the acclaimed Panasonic G3, the GX1 delivers a reliable, high-quality performance in most situations, while HD movies are also clean, smooth and detailed.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Pocket-lint reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“It looks wonderful, its build is superb and the layout and controls are fault-free. Autofocus is very impressive, the variety of focus options are capable and the image quality, while not the very best a compact system camera has to offer, is still pretty darn good. Besides, the image quality reflects the smaller size of the system and is a good balance between system size and final image quality.”
Rating: ★★★★½

CNET reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“I really like the concept behind the powered lens, and that it automatically retracts when you power off and becomes quite compact. It’s quick and quiet, with good stabilization, and optically seems about the same as its traditional 14-42mm counterpart.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Dcresource reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“Photo quality on the Lumix DMC-GX1 is very good, and comparable to what you’d see on other Micro Four Thirds cameras (including the DMC-G3, which shares the GX1′s sensor). Exposures were generally accurate, save for the occasional underexposure.”
rating: N/A

Engadget reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“the GX1 offers generally excellent performance from a shooting perspective, with an interface and control layout that will feel quite familiar to GF1 owners. The camera can power on and fire its first image in just 1.4 seconds, including the time required to focus.”
rating: N/A

Digitalcamerareview reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“Continuous high-speed shooting rates at full resolution were 4.1 fps, right at the advertised 4.2 fps claimed by Panasonic. The GX1 also has a super high-speed shooting rate that allows the camera to capture 40 images at 20 images per second with 4 megapixel resolution.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Expertreviews compares the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 with NEX-5N and writes;
“The 5N also benefits from a choice of frame rates up to 50p and full control over manual exposure – features the GX1 lacks. It’s important to note that the GX1 is still an exceptionally good video camera, especially with its smooth, silent autofocusing. It’s just that the NEX-5N is even better.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Photoreview reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“Video quality was generally very good at all resolution settings in both movie formats, yielding clips that were sharp and clear. Zooming and focusing were very quiet and had minimal impact on movie soundtracks. The wind filter suppressed but didn’t totally eliminate wind noise.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Ephotozine reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“Image quality is slightly degraded when compared to the results from the non-compacting 14-42mm lens, but the small size of this lens and usefulness when recording videos makes up for it and makes an excellent match for the compact GX1 body. Customisable buttons on the back of the camera and the touch screen give quick access to your most favourite settings and the camera feels great in the hand, particularly with the extremely quick focusing speeds.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Imaging-resource reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 and writes;
“Sharpness & Detail: Very good sharpness overall, though some visible edge-enhancement artifacts on high-contrast subjects. Mild to moderate noise suppression visible in the shadows even at base ISO.”
rating: N/A

Cameralabs reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 with NEX-5N and writes;
“The Panasonic Lumix GX1 is a compelling compact system camera for enthusiasts who demand decent quality and control from a small body. Highlights include solid build, responsive focus, mature touch-screen operation backed-up with lots of physical controls, a capable movie mode with long recording times (outside Europe anyway), deep exposure bracketing and some of the best quality images from the Micro Four Thirds system.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Trustedreviews reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 with NEX-5N and writes;
“Low-light and high sensitivity shooting is another area in which the GX1 does very well – at least when the camera is taken out of studio test conditions and used in real-life situations. If truth be told though, our ISO test results weren’t quite as good as we’d expected them to be.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Popphoto reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 with NEX-5N and writes;
“With just enough resolution (2530 lines per picture height) to achieve top honors in this measure, plus remarkably accurate color recreation and well-controlled noise at lower ISOs, the GX1 earned an Excellent rating in overall image quality from its lowest sensitivity of ISO 160 through ISO 400.”
rating: N/A

Whatdigitalcamera reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 with NEX-5N and writes;
“The super-fast autofocus is accomplished and the touchscreen makes for intuitive stills or movie capture, while small touches such as edge-to-edge and Pinpoint focusing make the camera all the more standout.”
