Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 Reviews

Ephotozine reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“It offers high speed performance, with extremely quick focus, shutter response, and very good continuous shooting at 6fps. The camera has a number of useful function buttons, as well as an excellent screen and EVF with eye-detection. If you choose the compact 14-42mm power zoom as your kit lens, then you get a very compact system, and one that’s capable of excellent image quality.”

Pocket-lint reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“Taking pictures is also great. The 16 megapixel sensor and Venus Engine 7 FHD behind it does a great job of both stills and video. We shot in a variety of conditions and found things were sharp, the camera responsive and low ISO coped well. Auto white balance was particularly impressive and the camera responded just as well in both full auto and full manual modes, plus everything in between.”

Amateurphotographer reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“The improvements to the sensor and processing engine enable an impressive performance and show that a smaller-format sensor can compete against APS-C models. The handling of noise is extremely impressive, allowing critical shooting up to ISO 3200 and the retention of high levels of detail even at ISO 12,800.”

T3 reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“The G5 also capture video at full 1080p HD (up to 50 fps) in both AVCHD and MP4. We found the results to be excellent – the video was surprisinly smooth especially considering we didn’t have a steadying tripod to hand.”

Photographyblog reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“Completing the G5′s impressive bag of tricks are the super-fast auto-focusing system, 6fps burst shooting, improved 1080/50p Full HD video mode, the silent electronic shutter and a bigger range of creative filter effects.”

Trustedreviews reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“Build quality is very good, the touch screen functionality makes it a fun and intuitive camera to use and overall image quality also impresses. Add to this the camera’s fast AF performance, flexible vari-angle screen and useful 6fps burst speed and the G5 adds up to a tempting package.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

CNET reviews the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 and writes;
“In terms of color performance, the Lumix produced images with good punchy color and sharp details. The shooter tended to be biased toward red, similar to what we’ve noticed from previous Panasonic cameras, and this is more apparent in incandescent lighting.”

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5 User Reviews

Great little camera
“I haven’t had it long, but so far I am in love with this little camera. If you don’t have to have a colored body and can go with a colorful strap instead or you just don’t think that is more important than functionality and image quality in a small package, the G5 is a great option. I love that it has a viewfinder,” – By James

Very Good Product
“Very Good Product, the camera is small and very lighweight even with the Panasonic 45-200 lens attached. It’s very silent when you use the “electronic shutter” mode, essential to shoot in theaters.” – By or

LOVE this camera
“The burst rate alone was worth the upgrade which was probably my chief issue with the G2. Photo quality is fantastic and the auto-focus is quick and very accurate.They tweaked the menu system a little which is taking a little getting used to but nothing insurmountable.” – By Chris Morgan

Well balanced feel, terrific images
“The G5 has a nice grip to go along with all those great lenses! It seems Panasonic has realized there are still some of us who like to use a viewfinder because the 1.4M dot Electronic viewfinder is INCREDIBLE.. I’m quite impressed with photos I’m getting out of this camera, even with the kit lens.” – By D. Fisher

Goodbye Canon SLR and Samsung HD Camcorder, hello Lumix G5!
“I recently started using a Panasonic Lumix G5, and am blown away!
Amazing pictures, great low-light performance, SUPER-fast auto-focus, etc. It’s smaller and lighter than my SLR, and has plenty of lense choices to suit any shooting situation.. The video quality, Full HD at 1080p (60fps) is AWESOME… I’d recently bought a Samsung HD camcorder, and the G5 is SO much better,” – By Dean D
Rating: ★★★★★

Even better than I had expected
“The high ISO noise levels were simply impressive compared to the Pens. I learned quickly how to use the custom white balance setting and my out of camera jpeg files have consistently accurate color rendition. The images are nice and sharp and will likely print well at print sizes larger than 16″x20″.” – By Francis D. Ferrall
