Here is copy of email I just sent to Panasonic which sums up my thoughts on the fz50:

Hi, I purchased the fz50 still camera thinking that it would live up to the advertising claims, only to find out that advertising still work cause people still think yogurt tastes good. I went on a shoot in Sydney at a BMX Comp and to 790 photo's, some bad but most ruined due to noise. I also do not understand why when I shoot in RAW format only that I must tolerate having a jpeg file created as well as the .raw. AND SINCE WHEN HAS PREPROCESSING EVER BEEN DONE IN RAW, raw means just that UNTOUCHED.

Can you please do what your customers want and add provision to disable noise reduction as it creates more noise than it removes. Most photographers are able to remove noise with filters in post processing, and I doubt that an ordinary person is going to spend 8-900 dollars on a point and shoot camera so I would suggest that it is photographers that by this kind of equipment.

I am just about to spend a very large amount of money on photography and video equipment and from what I have read on the internet recently, and from my current experiences I doubt that I can consider panasonic as my prefered supplier.

Please refer to URL http://www.gopetition.com/online/9523.html

If panasonic does not intend rectifying the problems with fz50 then can you please arrange for the return of my camera to Radio Rentals so that I can purchase some reliable equipment. Please note that I purchased the fz50 in preference to Olympic e-400 which I am now regretting doing.

Thank you, Roy Lister
