PhotographyBlog reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 and writes;
“since its target market will largely be using the camera for holidays and special occasions – so chiefly as an aid to memory – the image quality is more than adequate despite the occasional softness..”
TrustedReviews reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 and writes;
“DMC-FX60 is a good quality camera with a lot of effective and reliable automatic features. Build quality is excellent, performance is good and image quality certainly better than average.”
Cameras.uk reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 and writes;
“This is an excellent pocket camera. I was very impressed by the picture quality. I also found the camera easy to use and I like the feature set. This includes High Definition movies and image stabilisation. Recommended.”
ePhotozine reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 and writes;
“Image quality is pretty good, it has some nifty tricks up its sleeve but is let down in other areas. I’m amazed at the huge drop in quality from ISO400 to ISO800 as though noise reduction is simply switched off.”
PCadvisor reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 and writes;
“Pictures in average to bright light conditions appeared fine but we were less convinced by low-light photos, and video may list a hi-def spec, but watch out for grainy, colour-limited video. But for ease of use and simple control, the Panasonic DMC-FX60 wins our admiration for its simplicity of operation and solid build quality.”
Pocket-Lint reviews the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 and writes;
“DMC-FX60 is an easy to use point and shoot, demonstrating excellent build quality and giving results that great for the majority of everyday shooting. The HD video capture will please those who like to bring a little quality to their home movies and the battery life will see you through your average wedding.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX60 Specifications
Compact Digital Camera FX60 – 25mm Wide-angle LEICA DC Lens in a Sleek, Slim Body and Advanced iA Mode with POWER O.I.S.
POWER O.I.S. is about twice as effective as MEGA O.I.S. at reducing low-frequency vibration-caused blur when pressing the shutter button or shooting with a slow shutter speed. So you can take beautiful night shots without blurring. Activating POWER O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Face Detection AF/AE with Face Recognition, Intelligent Scene Selector, Intelligent Exposure and AF Tracking, the camera does all the work in the iA Mode. Face Recognition function recognizes registered persons’ faces and optimizes the focus and exposure settings.
The DMC-FX60 features a 25mm ultra wide-angle 5x optical zoom f/2.8-5.9 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens (35mm equivalent: 25-125mm). Panasonic achieved the world’s first incorporation of 0.3mm super thin aspherical lens and industry first 0.3mm spherical lens into the newly developed lens unit. This makes it possible to fit the 25-125mm high performance lens in a slim and compact body. Furthermore, in 3-megapixel resolution, the Extra Optical Zoom function provides additional magnification, extending the zoom power to 9.8x (35mm equivalent: 244mm).
To realize the ultra high-speed AF, a number of re-engineering and improvements are made including the adaptation of higher-speed actuator, the optimization of algorithms and the parallelization of software processing element. The result is ultra high speed yet accurate AF performance for users to enjoy the airy shooting that has experienced never before. Panasonic also replaced its linear program processing with parallel processing to achieve an ultra high-speed start-up of 1.1 seconds.
The DMC-FX60 can record motion pictures in high-definition (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps in Motion JPEG format). The pixel mixed readout method enables bright motion-picture recording even in low-light settings. With HD component output capability, you can enjoy watching HD motion pictures in stunning HD quality taken by your DMC-FX60 by simply connecting the camera to an HDTV via an optional component cable DMW-HDC2.
The DMC-FX60’s 2.7-inch LCD features a high 230,000-dot resolution, and a wide-viewing angle that lets you frame your shot in a variety of ways for both shooting and viewing. LUMIX’s acclaimed Intelligent LCD function also automatically adjusts the brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions. This LCD provides sharp, clear images in virtually all shooting situations, ranging from nighttime to bright daylight scenes and from low-angle to high-angle shooting. And it lets you share the fun of viewing images with family and friends
