Surprised at the initial quality
“I’ve been searching for a monopod for the past year and finally found one that I intend to keep. I tried out a Manfrotto 680B and it was too heavy. Then a few Gitzo pods, but I always felt they were just too expensive for what it was – which is odd because I own and love my Gitzo tripod. I guess I just feel that a monopod should be no frills/gimmicks and simple enough that it shouldn’t cost too much. When researching on Amazon, I was really worried because this carbon pod was less than most aluminum pods, but decided it was inexpensive enough that it was worth the risk. I’m glad I decided to try it out. The criteria for a monopod was simple – high quality at a low price. My initial impression (after using it for a few days) is that it really hit the mark. Pros: lightweight, carbon legs are constructed well, solid twist locks that keep the sections in place, handles vibration fairly well, foam handle feels nice, comes with a cloth zip up case” – By A. A Great Buy in a Monopod
“I had some reservations about this particular monopod because of its low cost for a heavy-duty carbon fiber model, but the product exceeds my expectations by a big margin. The unit is incredibly light; probably half the weight of a comparable Manfroto aluminum model I had, and it’s also much shorter when collapsed, which means it fits in a smaller duffel. The carbon fiber structure is quite sturdy, and it will easily hold a big Nikon digital with a 500mm lens. You can fit a normal ball head on this, or use a simple slip-on mount if you don’t need to alter the angle between the camera and the monopod. It’s sturdy enough (and tall enough when expanded) to let you rest the unit between your legs with the foot back behind your own heels to get some additional stability.” – By T. Nolle

nice&light
“Simple monopod that is easy to carry and easy to use. Nice and light. It has good height for me at 6 ft and locks in place well at any height.” – By fishports77
