Olympus VG-160 Announced

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., January 9, 2012. Olympus has announced a new V Series camera, it is the Olympus VG-160 that offers a 14-megapixel images sensor with a superb 5x optical zoom and a wide-angle lens (26-130mm equivalent). The camera also comes with Magic Art Filters, 720p movie capture and an intelligent, iAuto to complete the capabilities that you need in one compact camera to capture special moments. In addition, the camera has a large 3.0-inch LCD Display lets you get clear preview of your images including AF Tracking, Shadow Adjustment Technology and Face Detection. The Olympus VG-160 will available with price of US$100 on February 2012.


With a 1/2.3″-type, 14 effective megapixel RGB CCD image sensor and an Olympus-branded 5x optical zoom lens, the Olympus VG-160 is able to produce excellent image quality that allows you to print poster-sized pictures easily. While the 5x Wide Angle Optical Zoom offers a 35mm-equivalent range from a useful 26mm wide-angle to a moderate 130mm telephoto allows you to capture images of wide-angle group, wide landscapes, and close up portraits with sharp images result.

The Olympus VG-160 also comes with some interesting features such as AF Tracking, Shadow Adjustment Technology and Face Detection help you capture images just the way you intended. It also has Digital Image Stabilisation which offers a high ISO and faster shutter speeds lets you capture sharp, blur-free images, even when you’re shooting moving subject. The HD Movie feature allows you record crystal clear HD movies (720p) right from your camera.

By using an Intelligent Auto (iAuto) feature, the Olympus VG-160 offers capability to recognizes shooting conditions that match any of 29 built-in scene modes, such as self-portrait, landscape & night + portrait, and more. And also adjusts the focus and exposure for the perfect balance of color and clarity. There are a Magic Art Filters feature which allows you to create style and artistic flair to your photos. You can preview all of your images in a large 3.0-inch LCD Display with clear and sharp, even in bright conditions.
