Olympus SZ-12 Launched

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., January 9, 2012. Olympus has launched a new compact superzoom camera, it is the Olympus SZ-12 camera. The camera has a powerful 24x optical wide-angle zoom lens (25-600mm equivalent*) and two forms of image stabilization to provide clearest images result. It also comes with a state-of-the-art Olympus technology to produce excellent image quality. The camera features include mechanical image stabilization, a 3-inch LCD Display, 720p video capture, and support for Eye-Fi wifi-capable flash cards. The camera will be available in the US market on March with price of US$200 while in Europe the camera called by SZ-14 and ships from January 2012 with cost approx. €230.


With a new retro-chic “smart grip” features that combined with built-in Dual Image Stabilization, the camera is able to reduce the blur of images caused by camera shake. It also can be used when you are recording vivid HD 720p video. The Olympus SZ-12 offers high speed performance to shooting images up to 7 fps that lets you capture images of fast moving subject. Additionally, the camera has a Telephoto Macro mode that allows you to capture all the rich detail of small subjects like flowers from inches away.

The Olympus SZ-12 has 10 Magic Art Filters features lets you create a special effects to your images instantly on the camera. It also offers a new Reflection magic filter to create a powerful illusions by takes the image and duplicates it across a horizontal or vertical plane of symmetry. While the 3-inch LCD display with high resolution of 460,000 dots allows you to frame and review your images easily. It also lets you share your images wirelessly throughout your social networks or on your computer via an optional Eye-Fi Card even on a big-screen HDTV by using an optional HDMI cable.
