Olympus Stylus XZ-2 Reviews

Photographyblog reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“The XZ-2 performs even better than its excellent predecessor in the image quality department, owing to that fast and sharp i.Zuiko lens, a new back illuminated CMOS sensor and the same TruPic VI image processor used in th PEN range, all of which combines to turn out JPEGs with very pleasing colours, excellent sharpness and good overall tonality.”

Photoreview reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“Video quality was better than the XZ-1′s, thanks to the addition of a Full HD setting, although not as good as the still shots. Blown-out highlights were common in contrasty subjects and coloured fringing often marked their edges. Autofocusing was relatively fast in movie mode and the camera handled transitions between near and distant subjects, moving objects and panning very well.”

Digitalcamerareview reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“The Olympus Stylus XZ-2 boasts a zoom range that is on par with the competition, but lacks the telephoto range in which we have become accustom. The RAW shooting options are wonderful for those wanting more control over their work. The handy one-touch video capture gives users a pleasant experience.”

Slashgear reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“this camera has shown itself to be every bit the beast that Olympus claims it is, taking high quality photos and video with great ease. Colors appear to be as accurate as any of the highest-quality cameras we’ve tested at the price range and size we’re working with here, and no abnormalities have been discovered in any way.”

Ephotozine reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“The Olympus XZ-2 price is quite high, but value for money is quite good, as the camera has a number of features and expansion options beyond what is available on other serious compacts, and delivers very good to excellent image quality making the XZ-2 worth some very serious consideration, and comes highly recommended.”

Digitaltrends reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“For the most part, the camera’s sensor, image processor, lens, and AF speed combine for impressive quality. Tone is natural, noise is minimal (unless you push above ISO 1,600, where things get iffy), and shutter and focus lag are barely noticeable.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Imaging-resource reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“Overall, the Olympus XZ-2 looks like a promising design. That it’s a little bigger doesn’t bother me much, and I like that it’s easier to grip. Its tilting LCD should make it more versatile, and some will like the touchscreen functionality.”

Digitalcamerainfo reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“In terms of overall image quality, at least, it’s outclassed by the Canon G15 and Sony RX100, as well as the upcoming Nikon P7700 (keep an eye out for that review). It also costs $100 more than both the Canon and the Nikon, which is bound to stick in the craws of many potential buyers.”

Pocket-lint reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“We don’t have a final release date for the XZ-2, but the price is anticipated to be around the £479/$599 mark. It’s not cheap, but from what we’ve seen it looks like it’ll be well worth it.”

Techradar reviews the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and writes;
“The sensor and processor combination looks very promising, and the handling is great. Exposure adjustments can be made quickly and easily, and the screen provides a really clear view (at least indoors, where we were able to use it) so that manual focusing is possible.”
