Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 Reviews

T3 reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 and writes;
“The Olympus Tough-8010 provides decent quality photographs and video. Although image quality isn’t as big a pull as the camera tough build, it does produces better quality images than the majority of its tough peers, which is good news..”
Rating: ★★★★☆

ImagingResource reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 and writes;
“ISO 400 files print just fine at 8×10 with good detail, with the exception of some reds, which remains true from here on up the ISO scale… Overall, the Olympus Stylus Tough-8010′s printed quality is good, though it’s a step down from last year’s Tough-8000, whose 12-megapixel sensor allowed output of “nice and sharp” 13×19-inch prints.”
rating: N/A

Stuff.TV reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 and writes;
“Photo and video quality is fine, if fairly unremarkable. You expect a 14MP to deliver the goods when it comes to detail, but the 8010 does enough and nothing more – the JPEGs and videos it turns out are acceptably sharp and clean in the right conditions, and the fact you can get usable stills and footage underwater is definitely a plus.”

Steves-digicams reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 and writes;
“Our outdoor image samples show that the camera produces a great exposure with bright, realistic colors that provide you with excellent overall image quality…Bottom Line – Olympus’s new Stylus Tough 8010 is a go anywhere compact digicam, designed to be tough enough for even the most adventurous person.”
rating: N/A

Digitalcamera-hq reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 and writes;
“Color rendition is fairly neutral, and the camera doesn’t seem to over-do the contrast, which is nice to see from a consumer point and shoot… JPEG compression is pretty nasty even at the “Fine” compression setting, and of course there is no option to shoot RAW… Video quality is okay — not great. There are visible artifacts in the 720p video at the “Fine” setting, and the mic produces sound recordings that could at best be called adequate.”
rating: N/A

Digitalversus reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 and writes;
“The µ Tough-8010 films in 720p HD resolution. Sound is recorded in mono and is sensitive to background noise. If you’re using the zoom, for example, you’ll be able to hear it when you watch back your film. Picture quality is OK.”

User Opinions

Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 User Reviews

Rugged Camera for Inhospitable Environments | Rating: ★★★★☆
“Overall, I find this camera relatively easy to use; though it can be confusing to a digital photography newcomer. The camera can be set to a fully-automatic mode for those folks. I’ve not yet explored all of the scene modes, but the three tried thus far aid in obtaining sharp pictures. ” – By Scotty

Best UnderWater Camera on the Marktet | Rating: ★★★★★
“Being that are Family is in the middle of 3 Year Trip around the World with our daughter who turns 3 this month, we require a camera that is waterproof and durable. This is is our 4th model of the Olympus Stylus so we are not newbies to this Series, though we are on the simple side of taking photos & videos.” – By unstoppablefamilycom

Its tough but its not great | Rating: ★★★★★
“Over all this camera is great if you plan on going to a very rough part of the world, or even swimming with it. But if your just an average person looking for a camera to take good pictures this is not for you. Instead buy a cheaper camera with a better lens and get a good camera case to protect it from everyday life. ” – By Bob

Any less than 4 Stars is a lie! | Rating: ★★★★★
“This camera will zoom in on the tip of screw or a chip in the plaster with perfect clarity, then pop a button and zoom out wide to get a whole shot of the entire deep end of the pool. It is VERY easy to use in every way too.” – By flipnotrab
