Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 Reviews

Cameras.uk reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 and writes;
“If I had to pick a word to sum up the Olympus MJU Tough 6020 it would be solid. It has a solid feel in the hand and also takes good quality, if not spectacular snapshots. It compares well against other robust digital cameras. Although there is not a lot that makes it stand out against other models there is also little that puts me off the camera either.”

Trustedreviews reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 and writes;
“If you’re looking for a camera for skiing, watersports or other outdoor activities the mju-Tough 6020 is a good choice. Its performance is a bit slow and low-light focusing could be better, but it is well made, easy to use even in difficult conditions, and produces consistently good results, all for a very reasonable price.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Digicambuyer reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 and writes;
“In good light using the program settings you can capture some decent images. But in lower light images lack definition, look patchy and colours are dull. The flash lacks a softer function and can often drown out colour from images. One redeeming feature is when shooting light in pitch-black conditions, with a steady hand impressive photos can be achieved. “

Geek reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 and writes;
“Video quality is passable, but the lack of sharpness was disappointing. I have to say I was surprised at the OK sound quality given the design of the waterproof housing.”

Steves-digicams reviews the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 and writes;
“The 6020 also handles noise well, producing very nice photos up to about ISO 400. While the ISO 800 setting is still very usable, I feel you’ll capture the best photos by keeping the sensitivity set to ISO 400 or below.”

So Cool, | Rating: ★★★★★
“The pictures and movies are so clear. Also I cant wait to use the underwater feature on our next vacation. It also gives me some peace of mind knowing that it can be dropped from 5 ft and not be damaged. Their program you use on the computer is great too. So many awesome features!” – By M. Fuhrman

“We are consulting engineers and need cameras to record status and progress of large construction projects. Hazardous duty for any electronic equipment and we have lost cameras when dropped or from water, dust, etc. This unit has all the features we need and is tough enough for this type of use. ” – By R. “The pictures are crystal clear. The 720p HD video looks awesome, especially on your HD tv. No issues with this camera. No problems with hooking it up to the computer. Just plug it in and there it is. Charges fast. Takes a sd card for extra memory..” – By Michael Craig

Excellent camera, | Rating: ★★★★★
“I bought this camera because I went to a trip to Cancun, and I wanted to get underwater pictures. These pictures, if taken under fair conditions (sufficient light, clear water), the quality is very good. My surprise was that, when taking outdoor pictures, the image quality is excellent.” – By G. R. Rodriguez

Great camera for vacation, | Rating: ★★★★★
“I bought this camera to take on vacation. I had planned on using it primarily as a video camera because I have a good Canon DSLR. The quality of the video and photos was much better than expected…we ended up leaving the DSLR in our room most of the trip.” – By Dustin Duane Arnold

Great Camera, Perfect for High Quality Vacation Snapshots, | Rating: ★★★★★
“All of my photos taken with the 6020 are perfect, unless I do something wrong. I am amazed by the number of people who do not comprehend the basic concept of digital focusing: ….. Read the directions and anyone who buys this great little camera will love it and have great success with sharp, clean, well colored photos!” – By tommy1de

sharp and easy to use, | Rating: ★★★★★
“It was the perfect camera for her, not only did she make some great shots of scenery, but awesome close-ups. It is easy to use and clear with great options. It makes it hard to take a bad picture. Opps- i did drop it already but have no problems so the tough and shock proof are the real deal. Great price and i like the color choice i made. Highly recommend this camera for the adventurous.” – By M. Dietzel

Exactly as advertised., | Rating: ★★★★★
“Everything works exactly as it’s advertised. 14MP produces sharp images, auto focus finds the right subject, waterproof (used it in fresh & salt water), movies work great (very minimal wind noise). Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.” – By JAYNESS the Great

Amazing camera! | Rating: ★★★★★
“The panorama option is also a phenomenal addition- i have some amazing sunset shots that look seamless thanks to the built in sensor (automatically lines up and takes the next 2 shots for you- all you have to do is move the camera and it does the rest). The zoom really impressed me too, especially underwater (just make sure you set it to the underwater option- i found that makes a big difference). ” – By Nichole

Hi- I bought this camera and have not been able to take good pictures with it. They all come out grainy and with poor color. Most of the P mode settings are the factory default except for the MP and digitial zoom is now turned on. I find that the only decent pictures I can take are outside where the lighting is good. Anything inside comes out pretty poor.

Do you use the P mode or iAuto mode? I also noticed that if I set the camera to use IAuto mode, that setting does not stick for the next use (very annoying)

I have the same problem with the settings, have.you figured out how to set iauto as the default mode. It sems to be the mode that takes the best snapshots. The photos I take in the p mode are very washed out.

I did not figure out how to take better pictures-I brought it to a camera store and they could also not figure a way to get it to take good pictures indoors, so I bought a NikonS6000 that takes great pics right out of the box. I will just use this camera for outdoor activities.

To keep the camera on iAuto mode, there is an option to turn on. It is in Settings 2 and is called saved settings.
