Olympus Stylus 780 Reviews

TrustedReviews reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“it did produce slight image noise even at the lowest setting of ISO 80, it didn’t really become a problem until ISO 400…Colour reproduction was very good though, and the overall level of detail was good for a 7MP model. The lens was particularly good, with no distortion at either end of the zoom range, and only a slight softening at the far corners of the frame. ”

ePhotozine reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“The mju rouses itself from slumber and gets its lens out ready for shooting in around 3secs which is average. In the burst mode test, it manages a wheezing four shots in the 10secs test, which is pretty average. A bad performance would be under three, average would be four or five, and six or more would be good for a compact.”

CNET.UK reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“Mediocre point-and-shoot camera with strong mechanical image stabilisation, and little else to be excited about, apart from reasonable performance at higher ISO settings. Features are far too standard for this price, and claims of weatherproofing are underwhelming”

LaptopMag reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“Our photos looked great on the 780’s vivid 2.5-inch LCD.. We connected it to a 22-inch Acer LCD, and the pictures looked very sharp…With its Guide mode, accurate scene selection, and easy-to-use menu, the Stylus 780 is a solid choice for beginners, but its manual settings, Bright Capture LCD, and MIS–not to mention superb photo quality–make it a good option for more advanced users as well. ”

Megapixel reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“The Olympus Stylus 780 is, to put it simply, a good camera. It delivers an excellent image quality and its 5X optical zoom allows more flexibility when framing shots than most of its competitors. The value of the zoom is moreover enhanced by the CCD stabilization system, albeit that the (audible) noise that the system produces is at first a bit surprising. This, combined with the capability of capturing good images at 400 ISO outdoors, and doing so with an ultra compact camera that is weather and dust proof, makes the Stylus 780 very attractive.”

PhotographyReview reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“It fits in your pocket, it’s quick, it’s weatherproof, the image stabilization works great, and the high ISO performance is amazing for a compact digital camera. But no matter how much I want to like it, I can’t ignore the 780’s lens problems.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

GoodGearGuide reviews the Olympus Stylus 780 and writes;
“Colour reproduction was solid and everything looked pretty much as anticipated. The camera produced rich, full colours, as is standard with compact cameras these days. Reds were a little over saturated, but not too badly, and in general we found our shots to be a little brighter and more vivid than those produced by some other models.”
Rating: ★★★½☆
