Olympus SP-600UZ Reviews

CNET reviews the Olympus SP-600UZ and writes;
“The good: Nice features, design for its price; 1GB of built-in storage; one-touch movie recording. The bad: Soft, noisy photos above ISO 200; long shutter lag; ineffective image stabilization. The bottom line: The Olympus SP-600UZ is easy on your wallet for a megazoom, but its photos and performance require a lot of compromise..”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

NeoCamera reviews the Olympus SP-600UZ and writes;
” Overall, choosing the SP-600Z is about accepting its moderate image quality and performance for a relatively compact form-factor and very versatile zoom lens. Image quality is certainly good enough for the most common print sizes and even the highest sensitivity can be used for small prints.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

PhotoReview.au reviews the Olympus SP-600UZ and writes;
” Flash shots fared better and exposures were evenly balanced throughout the camera’s sensitivity range, although some softening was noticeable from about ISO 400 on. We encountered no red-eye problems in flash portraits and skin hues and tones appeared acceptable.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Cameras.uk reviews the Olympus SP-600UZ and writes;
“This is one of the cheaper digital cameras offering extra zoom power. As you might expect I found some picture quality issues as Olympus have pushed the boundaries and kept the price down.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

PhotographyBay reviews the Olympus SP-600UZ and writes;
“the SP-600UZ is no barn burner in terms of overall image quality. However, for a target audience that will mostly use images as 4 x 6 prints, or share online through Facebook, the SP-600UZ will fare ok. Shots at ISO 1600 look pretty rough though, so I would recommend making ISO 800 my absolute max sensitivity setting on the SP-600UZ.”

Digitalcamera-hq reviews the Olympus SP-600UZ and writes;
“the Olympus SP-600 offers some fun modes to play with that do result in better pictures. One of these is the Super Macro mode, which automatically sets the lens at a specific zoom and allows for focusing as little as half an inch from the front of the lens.”

Olympus SP-600UZ User Reviews

Very nice point&shoot camera | Rating: ★★★★☆
“As to picture quality – I’m not a pro, but had different cameras, including SLRs and digital SLRs, my whole life, and this one takes very decent, high resolution pictures. I hoped it would take pictures in dim light, and so far so good, but I didn’t play with manual ISO settings yet. It may be even better. ” – By Marty

great zoom camera | Rating: ★★★★☆
“Having the SP600uz for about 3 weeks now, what a great camera! The zoom is wonderful. Having the image stabilization works for those far zoom shots…It’s small and powerful enough to get the job done, it’s become my primary camera for trips, special events, and other such outdoor pics. The build quality and the lens is top notch.” – By R. Smith

Fantastic 15X Optical Zoom, Solidly Built Camera, | Rating: ★★★★☆
“this camera is perfect for me; like a point and shoot, only better. You are able to choose different scenes, exposure, white balance, ISO, like most point & shoots today. This also takes panorama shots with the set-up inside the camera.” – By ok4ablonde

Love The Macro Settings | Rating: ★★★★★
“This camera has macro and super macro which allows you to get within inches of the subject you are shooting. I was blown away by the quality of photos taken with these settings. The zoom lens is also amazing.” – By Joanne Olivieri

Great Camera! | Rating: ★★★★★
“This is my second Olympus and I love it!!! I had a chance to test the camera first and then decided to buy one. Now that I’ve been using it for events and travels, it’s even better than I thought it ever could be.” – By Blade

Good Zoom | Rating: ★★★★★
“It have a higher megapixel count, but it also had a bigger zoom–until quite recently, hard to come by at a reasonable price, though now there are several models to choose from. I’m happy with the photos I’ve taken so far. I like the heft of the camera, and the location of the controls feels natural.” – By Small House Small Budget
