ImagingResource reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“The Olympus SP-570 would serve as a great take-anywhere snapshot camera if 8×10-inch prints are all you’re looking for. You might not even notice the pincushion distortion in most pictures. The lens does have good sharpness over most of the frame, a significant high point, and the flash range is decent, but overall the Olympus SP-570 UZ falls short where it matters. ”

CNET reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“The good: Lots of helpful and useful features. The bad: Slow; big; manual zoom ring on lens not responsive enough; can’t zoom in movie capture. The bottom line: Poor performance diminishes the Olympus SP-570 UZ’s potential as an otherwise solid megazoom..”

RegHardware reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Colour, resolution and contrast were good and noise was minimal up to ISO 400 – few would be disappointed by the SP-570 UZ’s picture performance… If you’re looking for a camera with an extra-long zoom and delivers very good picture quality, then look no further..”

CNET.UK reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“The Olympus SP-570 UZ shows how the ability to do something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s done well. On paper, this is a cracking camera with amazing specifications, but while it’s well-designed and well-made, the average picture quality and poor high-zoom and high-ISO performance are a blunt reality check.”

TrustedReviews reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“The Olympus SP-570 UZ is a decent camera to use, with some nice handling features such as a decent EVF, good zoom ring and plenty of control. It’s Raw capabilities are an eye catcher, but it lacks the finesse of some competitors, particuallry when it comes to the images”

Cameras.uk reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“The Olympus SP-570 handles more like a Digital SLR than any other camera I have tested. I like the barrel twisting method of zoom. Add in a hot shoe, RAW mode and various manual controls and you have a very good camera for a photography enthusiast..”

DCR compares the Olympus SP-570 UZ vs. Fujifilm S8100fd and writes;
“Cleaner shots from the Fuji, combined with more consistent AF lock in low light than the SP-570 provides, make the FinePix the clear winner for ultrazoom users needing a fairly competent low-light camera, and this distinction alone is enough to pull the S8100fd into the lead where image quality is concerned.”

GoodGearGudie reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Olympus’ SP-570UZ continues the trend of its past ultra-zooms, offering an enticing package for users looking for a larger lens. It isn’t perfect — at times it can be sluggish and the pictures have some minor issues — but on the whole it does a solid job.”

Steve’sDigicams reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Image quality from the SP-570 is excellent indoors and out. The colors are crisp, vibrant and natural looking…. The SP-570 also takes very good videos. They show good exposure and color and run very smoothly when shooting at 30 fps. ”

LetsGoDigital reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“The lab tests are clear; ISO up to and including 400 is fine to reasonable in use but the remaining ISO values show visible noise and even annoying noise at ISO 1600.”

PCAdvisor reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“In bright daylight, however, the Olympus SP-570 UZ’s iESP targeting system (which the autofocus controls use to pick a spot to focus on) worked remarkably well, and produced clear shots even at the maximum zoom”

PCMag reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
The Olympus SP-570UZ produces decent image quality despite some inconsistency. Features are where this camera shines: Perfect Shot Preview and the Shadow adjustment alone are reasons to consider it over other superzooms such as the Sony CyberShot DSC-H10 and the Fuji FinePix s8100fd”

ePhotozine reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Looking at the photographs from a distance won’t cause any problems for you until you get to ISO800 and higher, when the noise causes a greying of the overall image. Moving into full size, the noise actually starts showing at ISO200..”

PhotoReview.au reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Between ISO 64 and ISO 200, our test shots were almost noise free. However, by ISO 800 noise was quite obvious and images taken at higher ISO settings were badly noise affected.”

DCR reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Images shot at ISO 64 to ISO 200 have extremely low noise levels and are dependably very good to excellent with accurate colors, decent shadow detail and acceptable highlight detail, and accurate Caucasian skin tones. Noise levels start to pick up at slightly after ISO 200, and ISO 400 shots show some obvious loss of detail. ”

DCViews reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“Image quality at low ISO settings is excellent, with well balanced, realistic colours and lots of punch… It can capture nice wide angle shots of landscapes or interiors while the tele lens is long enough to capture that bird on a wire as well. Handling is excellent and image quality is very good..”

InfoSync reviews the Olympus SP-570 UZ and writes;
“..there’s no fringing despite the strong backlighting, and the optical image-stabilization rendered a sharp exposure from a 1/25-second shutter. We also liked how much detail the camera managed to eke out of the foreground from such a difficult contrast scenario. .”
