I was debating about purchasing a DSLR; while i did not purchase one (obviously), the SP550uz offers many of the same features as a DSLR including full control of the manual features. However, sometimes i have difficulty in that the camera will snap 2 pictures at once and the delay is quite substantial....resulting in a blurred image. I do not now why it sometimes does that and it is frustrating. I know it is something to do with the burst/drive mode but it seems to still have quite a delay. Aside from this drawback i have found it to be a great camera with outstanding optical zoom at 18x and many other features, including 15fps, Dual Image Stabilization, a 28mm wide lens, and 32 various shooting modes.
