Olympus PEN E-PM2 Reviews
Techradar reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“The E-PM2 uses exactly the same image sensor and processor as the OM-D E-M5, so image quality should be exactly the same.. Now the E-PM2 model has a touchscreen, it can be used to quickly select the focus point, or used to activate the shutter, making operation quick and easy.”
Pocket-lint reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“If it’s value you’re looking for then the E-PM2 sure does lay out an attractive spread of features for its £500 asking price. Image quality is good, though the kit lens is a bit of a letdown – to get the very best from this Mini compact system camera we suggest looking to other lenses.”
Photographyblog reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“Noise doesn’t rear its ugly head until ISO 3200 for JPEGs and even the faster settings prove eminently usable, although the E-PM2 does apply some pretty aggressive noise reduction to keep the files clean as shown by the noisier raw images. We never longed for a camera with a bigger sensor, and you’d have to step up to a full-frame DSLR to see an appreciable leap in image quality. “
PCMAG reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“The E-PM2 keeps image noise below the 1.5 percent threshold through ISO 3200, which is impressive. Detail suffers just a bit at this setting; at ISO 1600 photos are excellent in terms of both noise control and detail. The E-PM2 is about one stop better than the previous generation PEN E-PL3 $499.00 at Sears.com, which recorded 1.5 percent at ISO 1600,”
Ephotozine reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“The camera’s image quality is vastly improved over the previous PEN cameras, inheriting the 16 megapixel sensor from the Olympus OM-D E-M5, image quality is excellent with the 14-42mm MK II lens delivering sharp photos and excellent Olympus colour. Noise performance is the best it’s ever been from a Micro Four Thirds camera, with usable ISO up to and including ISO6400.”
Amateurphotographer reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“The default colour settings are very good, creating bright, bold and reasonably vivid images, although I found the vivid mode to be a little too punchy, with some colours reaching saturation point. It is possible to tweak all of the default image styles according to personal taste, including adding colour filter effects to the monochrome mode.”
Digitalcamerainfo reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“Now armed with a useful yet unobtrusive grip and the Sony-derived sensor from the OM-D E-M5, the E-PM2 looks like it’ll be a great package, perhaps one of the best small, entry-level system cameras.”
Imaging-resource reviews the Olympus PEN E-PM2 and writes;
“Overall, the Olympus E-PM2 looks like another winner. It even includes the same 8 frames per second capability of the E-PL5, making it the fastest interchangeable lens camera at this price point.”
