I have owned this camera for about 6 months and am becoming frustrated with it. The pictures always look great on the camera screen but they develop terribly. I have tried everything, does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Very disappointed. I expected a better camera compared to my Canon A720 IS. Let's just say my two year old Canon takes better still pictures - and far superior video. The only thing the Nikon has going for it is its professional look, and better zoom. Sad as I really wanted to like this Nikon. Unfortunately, it would be a downgrade, not an upgrade.

I ran tests of lens accuracy and degree of focus possible at various zoom settings and my L100 and it has a faulty lens! I also have a Sanyo VPC S1070 which has a small lens but also 10 megapixels and ran the same tests. It is not possible to write down Ansel Adam's test here but they are available.

The L100 can not reach a good focus at any zoom. The S1070 reaches good focus at all zooms.

I do not know if my camera is broken but it is just 4 days in my hands. It goes back to Wal Mart Monday next.

I have the L100 and the book has two places it talks about using rechargeable batteries. I am using the long lasting rechargeable's and they work just fine! My batteries are made by Kodak.

Lots of people complain the L100 is a playtoy. They are wrong. It has a glass Nicor 15x Optical Zoom that goes from 5.0 to 75 mm focal length. It's a good camera and I have taken some really fine pictures!

I recommend this $250.00 camera to anyone who is serious about photography. It is easy to use or it can be hard to use depending on how you set it up.

I recently purchased this camera because I am an aspiring Photographer trying to create my portfolio. So far, I am completely satisfied with the L100. Granted it is not as sophisticated as the D90 but what it lacks in control it makes up with amazing snap shot capability. I have both cameras now and I find myself taking the L100 to more of my outdoor shoots then I do the D90. Overall an amazing high tech yet simple camera. Well done Nikon.

There is a no FIRMWARE version that allows for rechargeable batteries
See NIKONs download area....and it seems that it must create better battery economy...as some reviews have said the battery life is good.??

Very disappointed. The easy mode is terrible and it takes awful indoor pictures. The worst ever is that it can not use rechargeable batteries. It is worth it in the long run to buy a camera that takes rechargeable batteries because you will save so much more money. I didn't know this and now I am so upset that I bought this stupid camera.

Yes I know that now. It sucks, but I've been buying non-rechargeable batteries since I posted this. Thankfully, I've been lucky enough 2 find some really nice sales on em, so I just gotta work extra hours 2 make more money just 4 batteries. My Pop calls it 'The Bat Fund' lol

Hi Ronald, I am Mithun George from Bangalore,

Just visit Nikon web now, They have updated new firmware version for Nikon coolpix L100, You can download it from the site and update your camera.

With this you can start using NiMH rechargable batteries.

Dear Sir,
I am Ronald, I too recently purchased Nikon L100, recently. well it does not accept rechargeable batteries, and indoor shooting at home with tube light is pathetic, I would be great full if you could suggest some tips.
