The pixel issue was fixed today with a firmware upgrade to v 1.0.1. It was trivially annoying in my D7000 and the fix made it go away altogether.

I just got my first D7000 on Nov 8th but it had too many daed & hot pixels with hogh ISO-low light videos and even with still images after ISO 2000, so I returned that back to BB. Today, BB had new arrivals I guess, so I got a new one and checked right away. THis is way worse than the one I returned. In addition to dead an hot pixels on 1080 videos, it has very bad(bright) dead pixel (just one) at the very middle with ISO 800 (eight hundred)...So this one is going back to BB again. It is a very nice camera, great body and futures, so I will try until I find one without dead pixels in "Still images" for ISO less than 1600......Believe me, they were not noise. it is very annoying especially when you put on a 20" screen or a TV...

I just purchased this camera last week and the quality of the pictures is excellent. The speed and low light photos are incredible. This camera is amazing. There is a slight pixel problem and I found two pixels on the video in extremely low light. I took a bunch of photo and had no pixels issue in photos. The strange thing is the pixel issue seems to be going away the more I use the camera. Last night when I got home I turned the video mode on with the lense cap on and there was only one pixel, the pixel blinked a couple of times and then went away. I don't exactly know what is causing the pixel issue but it seems to be correcting itself. I thought about returning the camera but they are so hard to find that I couldn't do it. I am keeping the camera because it is awesome. Origonally I was going to purchase the D90 but then I saw this camera and for the extra money it is definately worth it.

My mind was set for the Canon 7D for christmas.. but now after looking at this beast specifications.. I guess I have to wait for some reviews of the D7000 available.

It's gonna be a great battle again between Nikon vs Canon this year
