Ephotozine reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“When we reviewed the D5100 in April of 2011 we were impressed and gave it our highly recommended award. The biggest change on the D5200 is the upgrade to the 24.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, with the D5200 producing 5 star quality images. The D5200 can also shoot at a faster rate of 5 fps in continuous shooting.”

“The developments to the D5200′s internals – most notably the adopted 39-point AF system and 24MP sensor – result in a truly impressive specification for a consumer model. It delivers stunning image quality and it’s a pleasing camera to use,”

CNET reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“The image was crisp, with accurate colours. It coped well with significant movement, such as walking while filming, even with the lens’ vibration-reduction feature turned off. It also compensated swiftly and smoothly — without any stepping — to changes in the level of available light.”

Digitalcameraworld reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“Nikon has given the D5200 the same 2,016-pixel metering sensor as the D7000 and this proves very capable so images are well exposed in most situations. Colours are also good, although in shaded conditions the automatic white balance system can produces images that look a little bit too gloomy and under-saturated. All things considered, the D5200 is a very good camera,..”

Pocket-lint reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“An updated movie mode also means that 1080i capture is possible at 60/50i, though we suspect that the 30/25/24fps options at 1080p will be the preferred choices. The mode is complemented by a full-time autofocus (AF-F) option that’s said to be better at tracking subjects than before.”

Techradar reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“Provided you are happy not to have an array of buttons and dials allowing quick access to key features, the D5200 looks like a great option for enthusiast photographers looking for a small, versatile camera.”

Ephotozine reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“An improved GUI (Graphical User Interface) gives clearer display of shutter, aperture and ISO settings on the back with both “Classic” and “Graphic” displays updated. Improved AF – as well as improved AF tracking in video mode, the camera has a 39 point AF module, advanced scene recognition, and 3D AF tracking.”

CNET reviews the Nikon D5200 and writes;
“The Nikon D5200 seems to be targeted at beginners looking to learn photography. Nikon claims that its revamped graphical user interface was implemented to better help beginners understand the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Solid performance, good value, Nikon nails it again!
“The D5200 is a step up from the D3200 as an entry to mid-level body. Very solid performance and thank god it does not suffer the fate of the D600. The D5200 produces extremely good quality images just like the D3200. Both the D3200 and D5200 share the 24MP sensor resolution, with the difference being the light sensitivity in high ISO situations. Both cameras are able to produce extremely well results in terms of photo quality.” – By Yano

Nice step up from the D5100, Big Plus Articulating Screen!
“I love the D5200′s interface as it’s much easier to navigate than the D5100 and the auto focus is much quicker and precise. The photo’s are sharp and very accurate in color. I’m very happy with the D5200. Just for the 39-point AF system for smarter focusing and tracking of moving subjects (compared to the 11-point module on the D5100),” – By Adam Petrone

ROCK SOLID PERFORMANCE! More Bang For Buck Than The Canon 6D
“The D5200 has 24MP. 39 AF points 9 are cross type. While the Canon 6D only has 11 AF points and 1 cross type. The 6D is more than 2 times the cost and has 22MP. The Nikon D5200 has a rotating screen, picture control presets, aperture priority, shutter priority, P, and M modes. The D5200 has +/- 5 stops of exposure compensation, the 6D has 3!” – By Faymus Media

Great little Camera
“The 24mp DX sensor is exceptional in such a compact camera. I really love the reticulating screen which allows me to compose interesting angles and particularily get low angle views without having to lie on the ground. I also really appreciate the exposure bracketing allowing me to easily create real HDR images.” – By MrHarleyDavidson

i would still buy this even ovr the new d 7100
“There are some features that are good about this 7100 that you normally only see on full framed cameras but the d 5200 has a few of these features as well. Yes, we would all like a d5200 to be weather sealed but eh can’t always get what you want. The end result is the d 5200 is the best camera you can own for under $1000.00 us dollars.” – By paradox

Improved video quality, stereo mic and I can move the monitor screen to get very slow,high or hard to get angles.” – By Berny

A must have for serious hobbyists!
“The upgraded 39 point AF paired with the new processor took some of the most amazing pics I have seen in what is considered an entry level DSLR. The colors just popped out at you and the images were tack sharp when using prime lenses. I also tried numerous macrel shots and they were amazing.” – By redrock73
