We purchased this camera due to its size (dimensions) and 5x optical zoom, and price range. We've only used this camera one day, but have discovered that even in auto mode, it works quite well. The photos generated by this camera have been crisp and clear, even subjects in motion were captured with little or no blur (digital zooming revealed some blurring). This is my first Nikon, so I haven't been comfortable with the navigating the menu; however, when working in auto the camera seemed to perform well enough for a Point and Shoot experience.
