Nikon Coolpix P80 Reviews

CNET.asia reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“If you have a lot of detail in your scene, the photos are borderline at ISO 400 and unusable by ISO 800. So depending upon what you shoot, the P80′s photos can range from great to just OK.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

ImagingResource reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“P80 was enjoyable to use, but its images were a disappointment. If you’re not printing larger than 8×10, the Nikon P80 will still work fine up to ISO 400, but there are better long zoom digital cameras on the market.”
Rating: N/A

NeoCamera reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“the P80′s lens is an achievement in itself, it stays relatively sharp and shows few optical defects other than barrel distortion near its wide end. As long as ISO is kept low, this camera captures accurate colors and its automatic white-balance system is above average. ”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

TrustedReviews reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“the Nikon Coolpix P80 is okay, but there are reservations. While the handling is generally good and instinctual, it feels a bit of a lightweight and it’s not the most responsive in the world. Image quality is average too, with good exposure and colour, but it’s let down by fringing and noise.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

PhotoReviewAU reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“The zoom lens on the review camera moved smoothly – and not too fast – providing a better level of precision than we’ve seen in some superzoom models. With brightly-lit subjects, autofocusing was fast and usually accurate”
Rating: ★★★★☆

LetsGoDigital reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“At 200 ISO, and if you look less closely at 400 ISO, the quality diminishes due to noise that is simply too apparent… If you are not demanding much and if you just want to shoot a nice snapshot without worrying about being able to sufficiently zoom in, then the Nikon Coolpix P80 might be worth a thought.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Cameras.uk reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“The Coolpix P80 does a good job overall. The camera is capable of taking bright, colourful photos. As long as you are not looking to make massive prints of distant subjects sharpness should be fine as well. ”
Rating: ★★★★☆

DCR reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“Image and color quality are good, as is shutter lag, but AF acquisition times are average at best. ISO performance is typical for most cameras in the class. Continuous shooting rates at full resolution are typical; speedy rates are only available at reduced image sizes. Flash recycle times look to be average to slightly below average for the class.”
Rating: N/A

GoodGearGuide reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“The camera takes around 3sec from pressing the power button to an image being captured…It may not be the fastest advanced compact on the market, but the P80 excels when it comes to capturing crisp, vibrant pictures both up close and at long distances.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

InfoSync reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“Pros: Great interface. VR stabilization. Good noise management. Distortion correction is a great feature. Cons: At 18x, camera has issues with sharpness, color and lighting. Overall not as sharp as non-ultrazoom 10-megapixel cameras.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

PhotographyBlog reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“Noise and colour artifacts are obvious at the slow ISO speed of 200, with anything above ISO 400 almost a complete write-off, which limits the kind of lighting conditions in which you can use the P80…All of which means that while the Nikon Coolpix P80 is, as Nikon proudly claim, currently the World’s smallest 18x camera, it sadly isn’t the best.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

CNET reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“The 2.7-inch LCD is pretty good, it has a wide viewing angle and doesn’t wash out in direct sunlight. It’s supplemented with an electronic viewfinder; both displays update fast enough so that they don’t interfere with shooting…”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

Steve’sDigicams reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“the Nikon Coolpix P80 is a bit of a mixed bag. While loaded with appealing features like the 18x Nikkor zoom, 2.7-inch LCD, high resolution EVF, Vibration Reduction, High ISO capabilities and great image quality, the slower shooting performance, uncomfortable EVF eye piece, amount of noise in high sensitivity photos and slower Face detection system really disappointed us.”
Rating: N/A

PocketLint reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
“The good: 18x optical zoom, large display. The bad: Bulky, some features are only available at 3 megapixels, plenty of noise on images, EVF is awkward to use”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

ePhotozine reviews the Nikon Coolpix P80 and writes;
Pros: Loads of features, Packing pixels, but not excessively, 18x zoom, Funky features such as Distortion Control. Cons: Colours slightly off for portraits, Flash gives horrible result, Noise is abysmal, EVF isn’t very bright.”
Rating: ★★★½☆
