Nikon Coolpix AW110 Reviews

Digitalcamerainfo reviews the Nikon Coolpix AW110 and writes;
“On the whole, we were impressed with the AW110. It does what it sets out to do quite well, and it’s among the most rugged cameras in its class, at least according to the spec sheet. While it lacks an exciting fast lens or a big sensor, it has fantastic build quality, a great display, and good ergonomics (lack of a grip notwithstanding).”

CNET reviews the Nikon Coolpix AW110 and writes;
“Cleanest images from the AW110 are produced at ISO 200 and below, though all photos exhibit a fair amount of over-processing. We feel this could have easily been resolved by reducing the effective resolution to something more reasonable like 12 megapixels, especially given that the sensor is only 1/2.3-inch in size.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Ephotozine reviews the Nikon Coolpix AW110 and writes;
“The AW100 was Nikon’s first all-weather camera and the AW110 proves to be a steady upgrade, adding Wi-Fi to its wide set of features and almost doubling its waterproofness to 18m. Image quality is good and the images are less noisy than the AW100′s at lower ISOs.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Digitalversus reviews the Nikon Coolpix AW110 and writes;
“This waterproof compact is loaded with a 16-Megapixel backlit CMOS sensor. Digital noise is controlled reasonably well up to 800 ISO, but quality drops sharply at 1600 ISO. At that point, smoothing seriously wipes out finer detail and you’ll need to stick to onscreen viewing (monitor, TV) or small-format prints (8″ x 12″ or 20 x 30 cm max.). The AX110 does have a 3200 ISO setting, but you should use this with extreme care.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Whatdigitalcamera reviews the Nikon Coolpix AW110 and writes;
“Overall, it’s pleasing to use and manages to shrug off heavy handling, water and cold temperatures without any problem. The Wi-fi connectivity will be popular for those who’d like to take advantage of instant image uploading, while the fast continuous burst will satisfy photographers who’d like to record fast action scenes or select a single shot from a group of images.”
Rating: ★★★★½

Imaging-resource reviews the Nikon Coolpix AW110 and writes;
“On the rear panel is a new display. Its size is unchanged from that in the AW100, with a diagonal of three inches, but where the earlier camera used a standard LCD, the Nikon AW110 features an Organic LED panel. Compared to standard LCDs, OLED screens typically offer better viewing angles, better contrast with deeper blacks, and greater saturation.”
