I'm afraid the green/magenta fringing on both sides of the images was absolutely terrible. Worse than that using the previous lens on my D200, which has always been something of a problem in this area. For me this range of zoom is perfect and I got quite excited about this new f4 one. But it looks a real dog. As I'm looking to upgrade to a D700, I can't imagine buying this lens I do not own this lens (I have the previous version), but have just seen images using the 24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR taken on a D700.
