Nikon 1 10mm f/2.8 Nikkor Lens Reviews

SLRGear reviews the Nikon 1 10mm f/2.8 Nikkor Lens and writes;
“While the Nikon 10mm ƒ/2.8 1 Nikkor seems to produce some very sharp images, it’s not without a cost in chromatic aberration, distortion and corner shading. All of these traits one might say are the hallmarks of a point-and-shoot camera lens, except those are usually fairly soft, too, which is not the case here.. it’s a bargain, and well worth a very small space in your bag.”

Photographyblog reviews the Nikon 1 10mm f/2.8 Nikkor Lens and writes;
“Chromatic aberrations are kept to an absolute minimum, and vignetting isn’t too much of an issue, either. Close-up performance is also quite good for a non-macro lens. Bokeh is nice and creamy when you can throw the background sufficiently out of focus, but it’s not always easy to do given the short focal length and the small sensor size.”

Photographylife reviews the Nikon 1 10mm f/2.8 Nikkor Lens and writes;
“As for the optical performance of the Nikon 1 10mm, it has a very impressive center frame sharpness and contrast across the aperture range, especially between f/2.8 and f/4, progressively getting worse from f/5.6 and onward due to diffraction. Its corner sharpness and contrast are also good, peaking at around f/5.6, but generally weaker than other current 1 Nikkor lenses due to green / magenta chromatic aberration. Distortion and vignetting are tolerable, while lens flare and ghosting are controlled well.”

Sharp lens for a brilliant camera
“This is a razor sharp lens for a brilliant camera system. I hope Nikon continues to make quality prime lenses like this for the Nikon 1 system. I have the 10-30 and 30-100 kit zooms, but since I put this lens on the camera it has not come off.. Other than depth-of-field changes, the aperture makes no difference in image quality. I see no vignetting, aberrations or distortions wide open.” – By ZeitgeistSolo

The best lens currently available for the 1 system
“This is my favorite lens for the V1. It makes the V1 small enough to fit in my jacket pocket (!) and performs amazingly well in low-light.. this is the best 1NIKKOR system lens for taking close-ups and portraits or for use in low-light situations without using the FT-1 adapter” – By Ryan Norbauer

Great lens
“I used my V1 for 8 months with both 10-30 and 30-110 mm , I was not happy with my photos . Today I bought one and well it gives my camera a new dimension , it’s like shooting with a DSLR while holding a point and shoot in your hands.” – By WelWel

Another great lens from Nikon
“I recently purchased the new Nikon1V1 camera and love it. A point and shoot camera with interchangeable lenses. Wow. The pictures are bright and detailed, and as has been in the past the Nikkor lenses are the best. I use this lens all the time.. It takes in a great deal in the picture, has a low enough f stop to include pictures with low light and does very well with both landscapes and low light sunsets.” – By Thierry

Pricey but well worth it
“Excellent results in all respects. Had I bought this before I bought the flash attachment for my V-1, I probably would not have bought the attachment. I couldn’t believe a f/2.8 lens could perform like this. The only minor gripe is the price (because I’m stingy)but I grudgingly admit it is well worth every cent.” – By JAMES WEATHERS

A must have lens for the J1
“I love my Nikon J1, and I think what I like most about it is this lens. Yeah, it cost a lot of money, but it takes amazing pictures, makes the J-1 fit into any small purse and pocket and also makes it great for traveling.” – By Vegan Symphony

Sharp, Sharp and Sharp. Tack On
“… Then came along the V1, with a set of 4 lenses and an adapter allowing me to use all my F mount lenses (huge selling point for me), Wow, and they all work very well. As for this little Nikon 1 Nikkor 10mm f2.8, simply great, (my preferred of the 4 Nikon 1 lenses) fast, sharp as a tack, outstanding build and still fits into my pocket..” – By PhotogDog

Fastest focusing lens for the Nikon 1 cameras!
“This tiny 10mm f2.8 lens is the fastest focusing lens currently available for the Nikon 1 cameras, and will focus quickly even in 3 EV light! Besides the focus speed, this lens has excellent micro-contrast and (unlike the 10-30mm), is sharp even in the corners at f2.8. Color transmission is awesome as well with this lens.” – By Atwater Kent
