Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens Reviews
SLRGear reviews the Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens and writes;
“The Nikon 10-100mm ƒ/4.5-5.6 produced some excellent results for sharpness, more at the wider end of its focal range than at telephoto. At 10mm and ƒ/4.5, images produced are very sharp indeed, and there’s only a marginal gain by stopping down to ƒ/5.6, where images produced are sharp from corner to corner.”
Photographylife reviews the Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens and writes;
“the Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR has very impressive performance characteristics when compared to other Nikon 1 lenses. While it is rather slow with a maximum aperture of f/4.5 on the short end and lags behind the Nikon 10mm f/2.8 prime in the center frame, overall it is either on par or better than the Nikon 1 10-30mm VR and the Nikon 1 30-110mm VR lenses.”
Photozone reviews the Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens and writes;
“The 1 Nikkor VR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 PD delivers very solid performance for a super zoom lens. The center resolution is generally very good to (just) excellent, at least when used wide open. Stopped down, the diffraction limits caused by the small and high density CX sensor come into play. The borders and corners show very good resolution for the lower part of the focal range.”
Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens User Reviews
Zoom with a view
“The 10-100 mm zoom for the Nikon 1 makes the compact SLR into a real camcorder with smooth and silent focal length changes. Optical quality is typical Nikon — the best. No, it won’t fit in a pocket because the lens is as big and as and heavier than the camera body. Autofocus tracks a selected subject accurately.” – By Macbook toter
Expensive but makes V1 Viable
“Really big, but is on the camera 95% of the time. Other lenses are ok, but this allows closeups, widish angle, good video control and versatility that the others don’t. My primary camera is a 7d so even with this brick on the front of the V1 it is still far easier to tote around than the 7d. Very expensive, but noticibly better glass than the factory standards that come with camera.” – By MacCam1
Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens Features
VR – Vibration Reduction
The lens offers an innovative VR system for minimizes image blur caused by camera shake make the images sharper and crisp. It allows you to shooting images at dusk, at night, and even in low-light indoor.
HRI – High Refractive Index lens
It is a HRI lens with a refractive index of more than 2.0 which offers effects equivalent to those obtained with several normal glass elements and can compensate for both field curvature and spherical aberrations. Therefore, HRI lenses achieve great optical performance in an even more compact body.
IF – Internal Focusing
Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens has an Internal Focusing technology which offers all internal optical movement is limited to the interior of the nonextending lens barrel. so it allows this lens more compact with lightweight construction as well as a closer focusing distance.
AS – Aspherical lens element
The lens provides an Aspherical elements which virtually eliminate the problem of coma and other types of lens aberration—even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting the distortion in wideangle lenses. Moreover, use of aspherical lenses contributes to a lighter and smaller lens design.
ED – Extra-low Dispersion Glass
Nikon developed ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass to enable the production of lenses that offer superior sharpness and color correction by minimizing chromatic aberration. ED glass offers all the benefits, yet none of the drawbacks of calcium fluorite-based glass. With this innovation, Nikon developed several types of ED glass suitable for various lenses.
SIC – Nikon Super Integrated Coating
The Nikon 1 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR Nikkor PD-ZOOM Lens offers a SIC – Super Integrated Coating to enhance the performance of its optical lens elements that helps reduce ghost and flare to a negligible level. The SIC achieves a number of objectives, including minimized reflection in the wider wavelength range and superior color balance and reproduction.
