I have used this Metz 50AF-1 with Nikon D3000 and found it performed well.
I have been using Metz 60CT-1 & 45CL-1 for years
with Minolta SRT 303, Nikon FM2 & FG cameras and finally with new Nikon D3000. Hope the new Metz 50AF-1 also perform like the older brothers.
The AF assist beam was bit insufficient for the slow kit lens, compared to AF assist beam of the camera.
Apart from that, I am impressed with its performances. The metal flash shoe is very easy to fix & remove. I recommend this product.
