This monopod does the job, and very well
“I use this primarily for closeup and macro photography. It’s extremely useful in locations where a tripod might be considered a nuisance in crowded areas. When I’m burdened by terrain and carrying a lot of lenses (in addition to the D700), there’s no excuse not to pack this monopod. It works quickly and easily. I recommend the ball head because it’s gives you the advantage of tilting your camera in any direction.” – By Bruce

Super monopod
“Light weight, strong, solid monopod. The legs slide out smoothly and lock down tight and firm, no slippage. The rubber boot at the bottom feels pretty secure. I’m not worried about it falling off or even wearing down anytime soon. The foam grip at the top feels comfortable for me, I have small hands…” – By Joanne Vaillancourt

high quality item
“It’s carbon fiber, so as expected it’s extremely strong yet light. It’s still reasonably affordable though. in addition to the carbon fiber, the other parts seem to be of high quality. The camera base is metal, and the handle snaps which lock and unlock the telescoping action of the various lengths use a cam action for a precision “click” feel. Towards the top of the stalk, the carbon fiber is wrapped in a comfortable spongey material which gives a nice good grip, so even when I’m not supporting the monopod on the ground, it’s still a good way to control a camera. “ – By Chris Morgan

SUPERB, FUNCTIONAL PRODUCT
“I shoot a lot of night highway construction work, but also lectures, parties and receptions, and this is the ONLY monopod I will use for getting sharp shots in low existing light. As I do much of my work in abrasive environments in total darkness the quick release sections make it easy to adjust height, even with my eye on the viewfinder, while not having to crank a threaded sleeve to the point where it’s either overtightened, and hard to release, or slips on you when you need it the most. The telescoping sections move as smoothly as if they were coated with talcum powder (but they’re not). “ – By Mr B “Mr B”

Features & Specifications

Manfrotto 694CX Features & Specifications

The Manfrotto 694CX Carbon Fiber 4-Section Monopod is a compact and lightweight 4 leg section monopod that combines the strength of magnesium and carbon fiber. The monopod is crafted from carbon fiber using an exclusive, patented process. Under intense pressure, extra long carbon fibers are combined with resin to produce a stronger tube that absorbs more vibration – and with a wall thickness of only 1.2mm.

Manfrotto engineers have also replaced all aluminum components with magnesium. The switch represents a lateral move in sturdiness, yet a substantial gain in strength and overall reduction of weight. The average weight reduction of magnesium compared to aluminum is about 35%.
