Lowepro Pro Runner x450 AW User Reviews

Outstanding Design and Airline Friendly
“The X450AW is very well designed. It includes a canvas covered cushioned pouch with shoulder strap for a laptop up to 15″ that fits into the front zippered compartment. There are nifty little attention to detail features including key holders, flash card slots, and zippered pockets throughout. The system includes a unique tripod carrying base pocket that attaches to the outer bag that keeps one leg secure from slipping. It is removable when not carrying a tripod.” – By Frank E. Trinkle

“One of the best features, of course, is that it can easily change from a backpack to a rolling piece of luggage. When you want to switch back to the backpack it’s easy, and the padded shoulder straps make it painless to lug it around. The best thing about it is that it fits most airline’s requirements for carry-ons. That’s a great feature. This is a great product that will probably last your lifetime. Yes, you can probably find a cheaper one, but I can’t imagine you’ll have any regrets if you spring for this one. It’s got everything.” – By Booklover

A Sturdy Gear Bag
“I am impressed by the sturdiness, design, and functionality of this backpack. The dividers attach to the interior walls with velcro, so they can be reconfigured to meet the specifications of your gear. They can also be completely removed, turning this backpack into an overnight bag or airplane carry-on bag. The handle extends and retracts easily, the wheels roll smoothly, and the backpack straps zip neatly into the bottom of the bag.” – By George P. Wood

“If you need this kind of travel bag, then look no more. Get this one. Rugged, roomy, customizable, lightweight, compact, and extremely versatile. For all it carries, it is amazing. Then there’s the weather cover, which is a bit tricky at first, but extremely handy once you get the hang of it. There are tons of small pockets and little zipper compartments for just about everything you need: media, drives, papers, tools, etc. And the wheels really ARE heavy duty. The handle gets caught up on the way in sometimes but not bad. And if backpacking is your thing, not mine, that works great too.” – By bezoarrn

Great bag but heavy
“This is a great travel bag for the professional photographer who needs to transport lots of high-end photographic equipment (including camera(s), lenses, a tripod, flashes, a laptop, etc.). The bag has plenty of well-padded individual storage compartments to protect the equipment. The structure/frame of the bag is very well constructed and well supported with metal framing and plenty of padding. All of this substantial structure, however, means that this bag is fairly heavy, even when it’s empty. Although this bag is advertised as a “backpack,” its weight (and substantial size) makes it more appropriate as a rolling bag.” – By Gwendolyn Dawson

Not only for photographers
“What is amazing is that it fits very comfortable on the back. I carried it for a few hours and I like the way it fits and hold well against the back. There are numerous straps for this entire backpack, and a solid way to carry the tripod if needed. I like the way the bag rolls, the way the wheels turn easily. The quick release pull handle is in a lock position when in use. This is great because when traveling, with the pull handle, you need a bag that locks and stays put when you need it.” – By Rizzo

Lowepro Pro Runner x450 AW Expert Reviews

Mymac reviews the Lowepro Pro Runner x450 AW and writes;
“I have used the x450 on a couple of photography shoots this year. For a wedding shoot, I needed to bring along two camera bodies, multiply flashes, multiply wireless triggers, two lenses with their accompanying hoods, my MacBook Pro, a monopod, cables, CF cards, batteries, a battery charger, and a couple of straps. On previous wedding shoots, this would have required a couple of bags. The x450 handled the load in a workman like fashion. As a photography companion, the x450 performed very well.”
