Photoplod reviews the Lowepro Mini Trekker AW and writes;
“The pack is comfortable to wear with generously wide shoulder straps, and two front-fastening straps to keep movement to a minimum. I have given mine some fairly rough handling and found that it more than stands up to the task. If you’re going on a lengthy walk for several days and want to carry just one pack including all your camera kit, then you’ll need a larger pack than this. However, if you’re going just on a day trek or you’ve got someone else to carry your other kit, you’ll struggle to do better than the Lowepro Mini Trekker.”

“This is an ideal bag for a photographer who lugs a lot of gear. We filled it with two DSLRs with lenses mounted and four other lenses and a flash unit. There was room in the pockets to take things such as remote releases, filters and a compact camera. We still had room for a cut lunch… we appreciate the fact that the discrete compartments for cameras, lenses and accessories keep the gear from rubbing and banging together, which does nothing any good. A winner.”

Great Bag, But Will It Meet Your Needs
“I’ve had this bag for over a year and have no complaints about it’s features and quality. I travel a fair bit to a variety of environments and it’s always done a great job of protecting the gear from rain, snow, dust, heat, etc. However, I would highly recommend that you consider how you are going to use a gear bag before committing to a backpack style bag. For me, I thought it would be a lot more convenient and allow me to carry one bag (as opposed to also carrying my shoulder briefcase) when I traveled.” – By Brian Collier

Excellent Backpack
“This is an excellent backpack. It is small enough to be comfortable carrying it on you back all day, yet big enough to carry a digital slr and a variety of lenses. I carry a NIKON D80 with 28-200mm lense attached alomg with a Sony video camera, and another digital camera (Sony power shot). All three fit very easily with additional room for more equipment. The all weather cover is a great plus as it protects the bag well. “ – By Patrick D. Kumst

Great Backpack
“Plenty of room for equipment. I carry 2 Canon bodies(1 w/powerwinder),1 telephoto lense, 1 midrange zoom, 1 wideangle lense and a flash. The outer pocket has all my extra batteries, memory cards and cables. Very well made. I have two minor issues with the bag. First the shoulder straps are fine but the quick-release sternum strap is much to high and is more like a neck strap. The second is really minor but the velco in the inner compartment goes about 3/4 of the way around the inside. It would be better if it went completely around so you could have more flexability in creating your interior design. I would recommend this backpack if you need to carry lots of stuff around all day.” – By Photo Nut

Great versatile photo pack
“The Lowpro easily holds a Nikon D300 with 18-200mm lens attached, a Nikon VR70-400mm, and Tokina 12-24mm lenses, plus filters, SB600 flash, small binoculars (my usual travel package). And, there is still room for other small items. Inside and outside pockest easily hold memory cards and other small essentials.” – By Foto Gato

Great bag, if you aren’t too big
“This is a great little bag if you don’t have a lot of gear. It fit my D80, an SB-800, a 70-300mm VR, a pair of small lenses with random accessories and room to spare. Excellent quality and well thought out design. “ – By scottm32768

Securely carries 2 bodies with multiple lenses and flash
“I bought a used one of these off of craigslist, and couldn’t be happier. I think it is also a good deal for the price new. I currently have these items packed, including hoods for all lenses: Canon 30D body, Canon 450D body, Tokina 11-16mm, Canon 18-55mm IS, Canon 28mm f/1.8, Canon 50mm f/1.4, Canon 100mm f/2, Canon 580EX flash… “ – By Jeffrey Varszegi
