Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Expert Reviews

Photoanswers reviews the Lowepro Magnum 400 AW and writes;
“Lowepro’s Magnum 400AW is a fantastic bag with a massive capacity. Surprisingly it isn’t the largest Magnum in the range and if you’re a professional photographer, requiring more space, for up to 2 bodies and 10 lenses there’s the Magnum AW 650 priced at £162. If you don’t have the kit that we had to fill up the AW 400, there’s a smaller 200AW (£119), which meets most airline carry-on size requirements.”

Excellent Camera Bag
“In addition, the Lowerpro Magnum 400 AW is digital friendly and came with a removable pouch that holds extra memory cards, batteries, and even enough room for a Firewire or USB card reader. Also of note is that this camera bag meets size requirements for carry-on baggage when flying is the method of travel. Overall, the bag is rugged, well built, with sturdy hardware, and overall is very well thought out in terms of functionality, durability, equipment protection, and ease of use. This bag has by far exceeded any expectations I could have wished for from a camera bag of this type.” – By SevereWX

Mammoth Bag that Is Well Made
“This bag is large. In comparison to the Pro Runner 200 AW, this bag is approximately 2.5X bigger. It is has about 3.5x – 4x the space of the Slingshot 100 I use frequently (see image I posted). To use this bag, you need to be hauling pro level equipment, and several cameras. The construction of the bag is second to none. The material it is made from is rip stop, and very tough. The shoulder strap it comes with is thick and you won’t have fear of it breaking when fully loaded.” – By Health Junky

A BEAST of a bag
“Enter the Lowepro Magnum 400 AW “Shoulder Bag.” It is a PERFECT equivalent to that huge red toolbox you have in the garage. It stores everything you need, even those “tools” used less often but are still needed on occasion. However, unlike the shiny steel toolbox in the garage, this is portable. This is not a frequent day trip bag by any means. But if you do need to take all your equipment with you, this should more than suffice. The shoulder strap is wide and well padded which makes lugging all of your equipment around more comfortable and convenient than a hard sided plastic box type case.” – By Super Mum

Much bigger than expected
“This bag is bigger than I’d want to carry around with me, but I’m still happy to have it because I now have something to store all my cameras and accessories in (except those lights) so I’m pretty happy…there is nothing worse than needing some of that stuff and having to sort of gather it from all over. “ – By L. Great bag; holds a a lot of gear
“I have to say that this is one sturdy and solid case! I’m able to accommodate a D700 with 14-24 2.8 attached, a D300 with 17-55 2.8 attached, 70-200 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 50 1.4, 60 2.8 macro, and an SB-800 speedlight in the main compartment. The outer pockets hold my Pocket Wizard Plus II’s, SD-8a, extra batteries, chargers, and lots of other stuff. There are several good ways to carry this bag around, and all feel very secure. Be warned, though…the bag gets HEAVY with so much stuff inside. All in all, I’m pleased. “ – By B. Cesario
