Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 Reviews
Trustedreviews reviews the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 and writes;
“This printer, like others at the top of Lexmark’s Professional range, benefits from the 105XL cartridge, which contains the same amount of ink as the 100XL, but is priced to give a very low black page cost. We measured this at 1.4p per page, which is very low. It also has an effect on colour page cost, which we calculate at 7.1p per page. This is low in comparison with other all-in-ones, too.”
CNET reviews the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 and writes;
“If you can live without the deepest, darkest black prints, the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 is one of the most cost effective MFPs around thanks to its cheap black ink refills. Color prints cost a bit more, but they are bright and vivid. For home offices, we recommend the quiet and compact Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901.”
PCWorld reviews the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 and writes;
“Small and home offices print a lot of plain text, which is where the Pinnacle Pro901 shines. Its speed is nothing special: 6.3 pages per minute on the PC, and 3.9 ppm on the Mac–but text quality was unbelievably black and crisp.”
Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 User Reviews
Wow-amazingly easy to set up-up and running in 20 min tops
“The ease of set up for this Lexmark was amazing!!! We followed the simple touch screen instructions and were literally printing within 20-25 minutes. It was a breeze. Our network (Linksys to two laptops) recognized the printer immediately and the install of cartridges and other components was so easy. When it worked that quickly we were waiting for the “shoe to drop” but it’s solid so far. We’ve also used the flatbed copy functionality (for cook book recipes so far), and we love it! It’s quick and just works for a variety of uses. I also tried various e-mails, coupons and a newsletter in color that my partner was working on. “ – by DIGITAL BABE
Easy to Use and Feature Rich Printer – Highly Recommended
“Printing from the PC was straight forward and worked exactly like it should. Using the scanner (TWAIN) from within applications like Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate worked perfectly as well. All of the advanced features I tried (PC FAX, Scanning to PDF and Email, OCR) worked perfectly and were easy to figure out. The included OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is provided from a program called “ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint” and is surprising accurate. An interesting feature that I did not try is the ability to add “apps” to the printer, like RSS feeds and scripts. These can be downloaded from the Lexmark site.” – by C. F. Hill
Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 is a superior replacement to the HP
“It worked easily out of the box and I’ve been printing wirelessly and double-sided since. Compared to my last printer: HP C7280 Photosmart All-in-One Printer (wireless and doublesided) which cost twice as much, this Lexmark is a dream. No jamming issues, software is easier to use, able to conserve more color ink than I could conserve with the HP. I’m so pleased. “ – by KW
“Over all this is a very nice device. All of the features work as advertised and work well. Plus, if all you’re doing is printing black and white documents, and assuming the 510 pages per black print cartridge (that costs only ~$5) is to be believed as it states on the box, B&W documents would literally cost less than a penny to print. You can’t really beat this even with a laser printer really…” – by Stephen M. Lerch
“As I started using the device to scan, make copies, fax over the next few days it all just worked. Queitly and without problems it perfectly made color copies that were barely distinguishable from the source. The fax software installed on desktop without a hitch and was able to send a fax with no difficulty. It was quick easy to set up works wirelessly.” – by Michael Nichols
Excellent for a tight budget
“Overall I really like the printer. As a profectionist I would like to see this printer print an even border on an 8.5 X 11 picture. And yes I would love it to have as sharp print quality when photo copying as the canon. But this is a business printer. It’s cheap on Black ink thats somthing like $5.00. I just brought color ink for $43.99 on amazon. but it prints 600 pages. I really love the user interface, I like the build quality, ( that beat the canon) the faxing and coping regular text is surpurb. The print quality comming from a memory card or the computer is excellent.” – by The Computer Genius
Excellent for a tight budget
“The Pro901 was the easiest printer I have ever installed. It was as simple as it could be for such a complex piece of engineering. It performs with good quality that is very acceptable for business letters and standard brochures. And the low ink cost is its most salient feature..” – by highsidescramble
Printer itself is nothing special, but the ink savings make this a winner
“…I’ve gone through many printers in the last few years (hp, epson, canon AND lexmark) and this printer performs just as well as the rest, with the added benefit of cheap ink. The printer itself is nothing special, but the ink savings make this a winner!” – by kate gabrielle
Decent printer, Fantastic controls
“In a word, decent. Text is dark and clear, unlike many competing models. Photographs also seem fairly decent…especially on photo paper. My in-store tests showed that it fared very well in comparison to the lauded Epson Artisan 810 on plain paper. That said, most reviewers claim that the Artisan is superior on photo paper, which one would expect given that the Artisan uses a 6-color cartridge system. Regardless, photographs looked good enough to my eye…and the Pro901′s text quality is far better than the Artisan’s in my opinion…” – by Scuba Steve
