Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Reviews

PDNGearguide reviews the Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH and writes;
“Best of all is the quality it produces: tack sharp results even in difficult lighting conditions. Capturing revealing “decisive moments” just got a lot easier. I was quite surprised by the very minimal image distortion (in theory something that could be eliminated by creating a lens profile).”
rating: N/A

Kenrockwell reviews the Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH and writes;
“There is rarely anything out of focus, so bokeh has little meaning here. If you can get a background out of focus, bokeh is only fair (a little on the rough side), but nothing to worry about since nothing goes that far out of focus. I can’t see any coma (corner smearing of bright points of light). I didn’t push it, so maybe it will or won’t have any on really bright points of light in the corners at f/1.4, but from my shooting, it wasn’t there.”

Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH User Reviews

One of the best fast wide angle rangefinder lenses available, | Rating: ★★★★★
“The Leica 35mm f1.4 Summilux-M ASPH lens is not only one of the finest fast wide angle rangefinder lenses available, it was also the first of the new generation of Leica M lenses renowned for their optical excellence. Wide open, this lens performs essentially as well as its slower f2 sibling, judging from test reports I have read at Erwin Puts’s website and elsewhere. It is the lens favored by most Leica M rangefinder photographers working in low-light conditions. I have found this lens to be amazingly sharp with excellent contrast and resolution; only my 28mm f 2 Summicron-M ASPH lens performs noticeably better…” – by John Kwok
